Joseph & Denise
Very happy with the service and all the staff. At the Blackburn practice. Everything was explained in detail concerning our little Chihuahua, and his up coming operation, which left us reassured that he will be in good hands. Costs are very reasonable compare to other vets. Highly recommended.
Caring and accommodating
We took our dog to Shrewsbury to have teeth removed. The nurse was amazing, she really understood the anxiety of my dog and us and went out of her we to accommodate us. (I think her name was Lucy, she was blonde and said she also had a collie). The vet was accommodating too and let us take our dog for a walk after check in and bring him back at his operation time so he wasn't waiting in the kennels. This worked really well to minimise our dogs anxiety. I rung up the night before to say I was worried he would be on his own in the kennel before his dental surgery and they were very understanding. The only negative was when we were sat with our dog waiting for the sedation to work. We were in a private room, sat on the floor with him and 3 or 4 times people walked in which made our dog alert again and try and fight the sedation, although they did apologise and closed the door when they saw us. This was made worse by the noise from the waiting room, even though we were playing calming music, it still kept our dog vigilant and fighting the sedation. Perhaps some visual barriers in the waiting room could help reduce barking/noise? Overall, the staff were great, the price was good value compared to elsewhere and our dog is back home after his dental surgery. I would definitely recommend Animal Trust (and have done many times). A big thank you to all the staff, especially the wonderful nurse, for the care you showed us and our dog.
My cat has just had hip surgery
My cat has just had hip surgery, he was referred from another vets. Positively the vets and nurses have been great. The price was 4 x cheaper than other specialist vets. My issue is around the admin, not getting call backs about test results, left waiting an hour in reception and forgotten about and now my insurance claim hasn’t been received by the insurer. Due to the poor admin I will be keeping my cat with our existing practice which is more expensive.

The whole procedure from booking my appointment to collecting my dog after his op was amazing. The reception staff, vet nurses and the vet were very compassionate and caring. I felt like I'd left my boy in the best possible hands and was very reassured by this. Would I recommend the Animal Trust? Without a shadow of a doubt
Over priced medication
I took my Jack Russell to the Birkenhead practice as she was loosing her fur, the vet herself was lovely and explained what is could be. What I don't agree with is the price of the medication, £99.75 for 3 items. One being 5 tablets that a human can get a months supply of for a fraction of the cost, another one I could have bought online for half the price I paid at the vets. They have got us by the short and curlies because they know we will pay it, next time I will make sure I find out if I can buy it cheaper elsewhere.
If I could put a -* I would
If I could put a -* I would. Disgusting aftercare. Admin staff have no clue on what’s be agreed. Just send disrepectful demanding, threatening emails. Reception staff didn’t fill in paperwork meaning my dogs ashes were wrong. No apology. I went in to speak to a manager. They couldn’t be bothered to speak to me about my complaints. No compassion, respect or empathy. Treated me disgustingly.
Every interaction I have had since animal trust opened in leeds/ dewsbury have been positive
The vet I saw today was very nice, she explained everything simply to me and took the time to make my dog feel comfortable by stroking and speaking to her . The reception staff were nice too.
Every vet I have seen over the years have all Been lovley, explaining everything and Been nice to my dogs which is the most important aspect of our visit.
Really bad practice
Ashton under lyne practice,
My cat was diagnosed with diabetes. And then they wanted us to constantly bring him to the vets for check ups even though taking him stresses him out and makes him have accidents in the carrier and when he gets there they try and do pee and blood tests constantly he doesn't need that many especially when hes acting okay in himself but as we refused to keep taking him every few weeks for appointments they have basically left us to it and wont help us so all the things we've learnt from this illness has been from Facebook groups and google as they wont help us.
They also lost our rabbit who passed away as it had been 2 weeks and not heard from the crem about the ashes we rang they said they had transport issues so he hadnt even been sent to the crem place yet so we rang the crem up and they said they didn't have transport issues so aninal trust lied. Then when we rang them to confront them they said he was under a large dog in the freezer so he was forgotten. What a nice image to have in my brain my pet bunny whos passed away in a freezer underneath a large animal.
Great service
Easy to park. Clean and spacious. Polite helpful staff .
Bethany the nurse we saw was so lovely, kind and patient with my very nervous boy. Great service , and for more reasonable than most places.
I wish I could give 5* but…
I wish I could give 5* but unfortunately every single appointment has been messed up, late or completely canceled/not booked in correctly.
Swapped vets to see price differences and my lord, they are MUCH cheaper than anywhere else. Vets4pets was trying to charge us 2.6k for a lump removal and spay, this place has for both removal and spay as well as a few other odd things that we would have liked to get done but couldnt afford it.. 1.4k, its a no brainer.
However, every single appointment I have had, there has been an issue.
First app I booked myself online, it gives you a calender and you choose the day, I arrived on that day and was told "you are the 5th person this has happened to today, not sure what has happened, the system must have messed up the appointments"
So I rebook for the week after and attend - which went fine. The next app was the surgery and I was told 8am drop off, I got there and still by 9:10am, no one had came out, no information has been given to us(there was another lady waiting who was supposed to be in work at 9am) so I asked what was going on to be told "your app is 9am, not 8am" even if tjat was the case, I still was not seen until 9:20am! Caused a lot of issues for my fiancé as he was home with the children, thinking I was quickly dropping off and coming home so he could go to work. Very frustrating!!
And then to collect my dog I was given an app, told the receptionist when I arrived and was sat there for 20 minutes! No idea why! A vet came out a few times and was looking around so I had to ask, are you waiting for me? And she said yes! Turns out the receptionist HAD informed someone, but they just did not inform anyone else?
Honestly, every single app there has been such a lack of communication, breakdown of organization, and I have lost multiple hours at this point from waiting around and not being kept up to date on whats going on.
Please, figure out a way to communicate better as its the customers and the pets who suffer! My poor doggie just wanted to be home and was stuck there for no reason 🥺
Other than that, staff were lovely, surgery went great for my doggie, just wish I could give 5* but with all the messing around, it has left a bad taste in our mouths.
Lovely staff & so helpful
Lovely staff & so helpful. Everything is explained to you and you feel listened to with any questions you ask. The prices are fantastic and affordable. I recommend all the time.
Thank You Dewsbury branch, your brilliant xx
Very pleasant visit, left reassured and better yet no charge.
It doesn't matter if you are early for your appointment or late you always have to wait to see the Vet/Nurse.
The seated waiting area for dogs was full once we took the last seats available. We saw the vet and we only wanted an opinion on our dogs health. The vet check him over said they couldn't tell without a blood test and urine test for sure, we told them thank you and said I would see how he was with a homeopathic product.
They weren't too impressed and said think about tests suggested.
I would try homeopathic route first, as he wasn't in any discomfort, no signs of being unwell and was 12 yrs old. Told if anything changes to come back and they would do tests. Very pleasant visit

This review is for Shrewsbury branch- DO NOT take your pet here unless you want to loose your pet! Absolutely shocking experience and no care at all. We had to change the vets due to paying lots of money and no help for our cat at all. The new vet treated the cat right away and they are brilliant! This Trust is an absolute NO GO!! Stay away.

5/5 Stars — Outstanding, Compassionate Care
5/5 Stars — Outstanding, Compassionate Care
I cannot thank the incredible team at Animal Trust Warrington enough for the kindness, empathy, and high-level veterinary care they provided during an extremely difficult time for our dog, Louie, and our family.
From the moment we walked through the door, every member of staff treated Louie with immense gentle care and treated us with true compassion. Facing a major surgery like an eye removal (enucleation) is terrifying for any pet owner, but the team listened to our concerns, kept us updated every step of the way, and made sure Louie was safe, comfortable, and thoroughly looked after.
It is rare to find a clinic that combines such exceptional surgical skill with genuine heart and warmth. They turned a distressing situation into a calm, reassuring experience, and we are forever grateful for the way they advocated for Louie's health and well-being.
If you are looking for a veterinary team in Warrington that truly cares about both pets and their owners, I cannot recommend Animal Trust highly enough. Thank you for everything you did for our boy!
