July 11th 2026, I called to ask for someone to check on my non functioning refrigerator and within a few hours a technician arrived and estimated it would cost me $1722.58 to repair it (compressor Assy, Evap coil kit R600 fill up and labor) The original LG cost me $1499 plus tax October 2021. I was advised by the technician not to buy any fridge for less than $2,500, we also discussed the one year warranty and the $400 extended warranty. He told me there would be a 5 year warranty on the repairs he quoted. Based on that I told him to go ahead with the order. He told me the parts would be in on the following Tuesday and someone would be in on the Thursday to install them. No one come Thursday or Friday but did get a call on Saturday telling me the work could be done on Sunday. I had told the original technician we were going away on that Sunday for a week. While we were away I had another call saying the work could be done but I explained again we were away and not back until The next Sunday. I had expected to hear from someone on the Monday we were back, telling me when to expect a technician to come. No call...so I called and had no response, I called two more days before I was finally given a date for the repair...Sunday August 1, three weeks from first visit.. After the repair was done I called their office asking them to send me a printout of the 5 year warranty, what I was sent to me was a note saying 30 day warranty on labor and 1 year on parts not the 5 years I had expected. When I asked for an explanation I was told the technician told me the fridge should last at least 5 years after the repairs. My partner was there with me and the technician and we know that is not was said.

Do not use The A Team Appliance Repair. They engage in predatory pricing and deceptive business practices.

I was billed over $1,100 for a KitchenAid refrigerator repair. They collected $850.71 from me ($800.71 initial e-transfer + $50 for parts delivery). When I requested parts-only delivery to avoid further installation fees, they dropped off an evaporator fan motor (Part #W11396715) and a defrost thermostat harness at my door.

The actual OEM retail value of these parts is under $120 CAD combined. Charging $777.72 for $120 worth of uninstalled box components is a 500%+ markup. Furthermore, when I formally disputed this charge, management refused a partial refund, hiding behind signed paperwork and claiming they "waived" a $0.53 balance to consider the account closed.

They take advantage of consumers, demand non-reversible e-transfers, and overcharge astronomically for loose parts dropped on your doorstep. Save your money and hire a reputable local technician instead. Formal complaints have been submitted to Consumer Protection Ontario.

The worse thing is getting knowingly ripped off by these companies, but the best part is getting to review them.
They came to my home (late by the way) letting me know that there was an $80 charge for the visit, but they would be waved if you used our service. To do labor they wanted an extravagant amount. It was either lose the 80 right there or let them continue. I was very upset but after a long talk they convinced me (by lying) that your old device although old is worth fixing as they don't make them like that anymore and that the parts needed are generally only a little bit more. After an hours work, he told me it needed specific parts and the parts were 900.00!!! plus he told me the labor bill was 300. For the 1200, not including tax, i could've bought a brand new washer and dryer. I had to pay them the 300 though, and firmly told them fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice (which they tried to do again) shame on me. They fooled me once and i told them shame on your for stealing this money knowing what the cost would be (more than buying several appliances brand new). Did I mention they were late as well.
DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOME THEY ARE BASICALLY TAKING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Sadly, as you know, these SCHEMES where they have an outrageous minimum that will be wave if you pay the even more outrageous full price for work. I know we have all these experiences and it needs to stop and hopefully, the government will step in and make a law change. Please pass this on.

Filled an inquiry to setup a dryer repair check. Never confirmed a time and they still sent a technician. The technician they sent was not gas licensed so he couldn't even diagnose my dryer. So no check or repair was performed. And they are still trying to extort a diagnostic fee. If I could give them 0 stars. I would. Scam of a company.

Found the exact same parts for 75% less than they tried to charge me and they damaged my floor.
Completely enraged with the situation.

i want to express my sheer anger at getting charged $300 for an initial check on my fridge .I was told by technician by doing a service on the motherboard that it would fix the issue,it didn't and he proceeded to say that the evaporator fan motor needed replaced at a cost of $400 which he would reduce by $50 to $350.The part itself I can buy direct from Frigidaire for $116 .So the combined cost today and the new part if I went ahead with it would have cost me $650 + taxes.Before the technician had arrived today I had removed the freezer back cover for him and defrosted the ice and had also checked and cleaned the refrigerator coils.It took him all of 5 mins using a multi-meter to measure a few voltage readings so I'm really struggling to see why 5 mins of work cost $300 and it did not fix the problem. This is a complete rip off ,do not use this company

THE WORST COMPANY EVER, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD THEY ARE RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL, AND THEY STOLE FROM ME. TOOK FOREVER TO DO ANYTHING AND BLAME THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF APPLIANCE TO DEAL WITH.. THAT IS YOUR JOB. HAVING ADDING ALL THESE FEES MAKINE MY REFUND VIRTUALLY NOTHING LEFT.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! They are total scammers. We cancelled an appointment with them well in advance. The repair guy showed up anyway and left us with a 90$ invoice saying we never cancelled. Check them out they are all negative reviews on them and they are known for this scam. They are listed in the buyer beware list with consumer protection Ontario.

I was unaware about this company's reputation, as I just googled them because I needed to fix my oven and I got trapped with a SCAM. over the phone, they said they'd charge me $80+ tax for sending a technician as a "service charge". however, once the technician arrived to my house, he said it would be $250+ tax, even though he did not do anything, just checked my oven out by screwing and unscrewing a couple things. They told me it would cost $535 for replacing a part. when I researched the original part thats needed online, it was roughly $300. when I called them back again to ask about this price discrepancy, they told me it covered shipping/handling & installation fees. But, when we spoke with the technician prior to this, he said the $250+ tax that I previously paid already included the part installation fees. The technician also said that he only accepts cash, debit or e transfer which is very suspicious to me as on their website it states that credit card is accepted. This was a major mistake, please do not contact this scam company!!!

They’re very shady company, they don’t have a price list, the charge you based on how you look, I wouldn’t call them

Like every other review, my mother was taken advantage of by AJ from this fraudulent trash company. $80 service fee told to her over the phone, only for there to be a surprise $280 fee after all said and done. All the man did was disassemble the oven, “clean” it, and then say we need to spend $800 to replace something. Absolute lies! My mother was home alone and pressured to pay for this crap. The customer service team was especially useless. AVOID this fraud company.

I had the most horrible experience with the company. First off, it cost me $80 for the service call. That's ok, however, it went downhill from their. The repair guy said in order to see what's wrong he would have to do a diagnosis and the labour charge is 280.00 plus tax. My water was leaking all over the front of my washing machine so I was worried and signed the contract. I figured the $80 would be deducted. Not only was it not deducted but he then proceeded to tell me my washing machine needed Water Solenoids which will cost me an additional $383.24. I had no idea what "Water Solenoids" were. I had already signed for the diagnosis so they had my signature on the paper. It seemed strange that this would end up costing me $749.46 in total, which is almost the cost of a new Washing Machine. So I contacted the manufacturer, and their service guy from LG (which is the make of my washing machine) came and inspected it thoroughly at no cost. He told me it was not the machine,and that the leakage of water was coming from the clogged pipe attached to the laundry sink beside the machine. I then proceeded to call a plumber which was an additional $375 to have my drain under the sink de-clogged. After the plumber had de-clogged the drain there was no more water coming from my washing machine when I turned it on. He also said it had nothing to do with the LG Washing Machine. It was only 3 years old and after inspecting it, he said it was in perfect working condition! It was soley a plumbing issue. He felt so bad for me after looking at the work order that I had signed and said that he hates companies that are scammers. I called The A Team Appliance Repair to cancel the part they ordered at $383.24 and asked them to refund me the $280 diagnonsis charge as the issue was clearly not the machine. The inspection they did was false and they need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau which I will do now. This just happened a couple of days ago. They told me they would not refund me the $280 and also told me that I had to pay for the shipping and stocking price of the part even though I cancelled it. They said they would only return $52 and I have even yet to receive this money??? What a horrible and scamming company. PLEASE DO NOT and I emphasize this use this company.

It’s really 0 stars and a screaming BEWARE…. they are scammers. I made several mistakes, and I’m sharing my experience so others don’t make the same ones. First, my husband chose this company, and I should have done my own research before booking the appointment. I was originally quoted an $80 service call, but when the technician arrived, I was told the diagnostic fee was $280. Although I wasn’t happy about the increase, I signed the work order in desperation as I did not have a spare fridge. Looking back, that was my first mistake. The technician arrived wearing a Protek uniform. Another major red flag was payment. Their website states they accept all major credit cards, but when the technician was in my home, I was told they would only accept cash or Interac e-Transfer. The technician diagnosed my Jenn-Air built-in refrigerator as needing a cold control board and quoted $2,471.35 for the part alone, with the total repair costing approximately $3,200. I was also told I had to pay 50% upfront.
While the technician was still in my home, I started doing more research because the entire situation made me increasingly uncomfortable. I decided not to proceed and asked him to leave. I was then told I still owed the $280 diagnostic fee and that if I didn’t pay, they would take me to Small Claims Court.
I contacted Elite Appliance Service, who diagnosed the issue as the compressor inverter and quoted $432 for the part, with the entire repair costing about $900, including Looking back, I wish I had done more research. Had I looked beyond the Google reviews, I would have found numerous customer reviews warning others to beware, along with an F rating and a Better Business Bureau Pattern of Complaints alert. I’m disappointed in my own judgment, but I hope my experience helps others avoid making the same mistake.

I wish I read the Trust Pilot and BBB reviews before gettiing involved with this horrible company. Hired them to repair my dishwasher, quoted $80 but charged $200 labour and $327 to fix what the technician determined as a faulty water inlet. Ran a cycle and noticed that the dishwasher was not draining any water. Called Customer Service to complain, had to wait 2 days for approval from their Warranty Department. When the Technician showed up today he tried to charge me another $372.12 for what he determined was a faulty drain pump assembly. The OEM water inlet is an $85 part while the pump assembly is $120-$140 max. I declined the 2nd repair and asked him to leave. They clearly don't have clue what they are doing and will overcharge 3x times the cost of the OEM part and still not fix the issue. Never again!

I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

I paid over $600 to have my dishwasher repaired. Unfortunately, the repair did not resolve the issue, and the dishwasher began leaking again shortly afterward.

When I contacted the company, I was told I would have to pay another service call fee before they would determine whether the issue was covered under warranty. I was surprised by this, as I did not understand this would be required when I authorized and paid for the original repair.

I scheduled the follow-up appointment but later decided to cancel it after researching the company and reading numerous customer reviews describing experiences that caused me to lose confidence in proceeding with additional work.

Despite the original repair failing to fix the problem, I was then invoiced $56.50 for the cancelled service call, which I am disputing.

My experience has been frustrating. I paid a significant amount for a repair that did not resolve the issue, and I was disappointed to be asked to pay additional fees before the warranty could even be assessed.

A fraud. Stay away. Came to fix a fridge and faked it. Told us parts on 2 days and never showed up. Wouldn’t tell me what they ordered, who they ordered from, tracking number. Got a thermador tech in after and know the “issue” they found was wrong. Stay away!!!!

SeeI spent $500 for a diagnostic fee but the problem is that they misdiagnosed everything they didn't know what they were doing they were not on time and they're completely incompetent!
First they tell me it can be repaired for $500 then they can try to tell me that it needs an extra part which will push it up to another $250 which is a total of $750 plus m In that case I could have bought a new one. Terrible company, terrible people.

Do not pirate this company it's just a scam.

I noticed that I found their company on a program called CBC marketplace and there were found to be a bunch of scammers and had multiple companies a CBC marketplace investigated this issue.
This all came from the area of Brampton and Mississauga which is known for its fraudulent scams!

JUST GO UNDER YOUTUBE AND PUNCH IN CBC MARKETPLACE APPLIANCE REPAIR RIPOFFS AND THE GTA YOU WILL SEE THEM THEY ALL ARE FROM THE MISSISSAUGA BRAMPTON AREA.

CBC MARKETPLACE EQUIPPED THEMSELVES WITH HIDDEN CAMERAS AND PRETENDED THAT THEY WERE CUSTOMERS AND THEY REALLY CUT A LOT OF THEM RED-HANDED. IT'S VERY FASCINATING TO SEE THIS. DO NOT MISS IT. THIS IS WORTH WATCHING THE WHOLE PROGRAM TO KEEP YOU INFORMED OF BECOMING A VICTIM OF A SCAM.

IT APPEARS THAT FIELD REGIONAL POLICE HAVE THEIR HANDS FULL WITH A LOT OF FRAUD AND SCAMS GOING ON IN THE HALTON AND PEEL AREA WHICH COVERS BRAMPTON MISSISSAUGA AND OAKVILLE.

I had a very poor experience with the Appliance Repair Team. After they determined my dryer was unrepairable, they attempted to charge me a "lab fee" that was not disclosed or part of our original signed invoice. When I contested this, they demanded an additional payment just to return the dryer panel they had already removed. I would not recommend this company due to their questionable billing practices and lack of professionalism

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after everything I have experienced, I feel obligated to warn other consumers.

My experience with The A Team Appliance Repair has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

The company advertises an $80 service call, but that was not my experience. Once the technician arrived, I was charged approximately $350 before any meaningful repair was completed. Payment was expected immediately.

I paid this company thousands of dollars to repair my KitchenAid refrigerator. Despite the money I spent, the original problem was never properly resolved.

Throughout the process, I received conflicting information from the office and the technician.

The technician clearly told me that replacement parts came with a 2-year warranty. Later, when I contacted the office, I was told it was only 1 year. During another visit, I asked the technician again, and he confirmed that he still believed the warranty was two years. Even the technician and the office could not provide consistent information.

The latest diagnosis was even more concerning.

The technician claimed that my evaporator fan assembly had failed and quoted another $700-$1,000 repair. Fortunately, I decided not to approve the repair immediately.

Since that visit, the evaporator fan has been running normally every day, and I can clearly hear it operating. If the fan is functioning, how can I trust the diagnosis that it had failed? This made me seriously question the accuracy of the diagnosis and whether I was being asked to pay for an unnecessary repair.

I emailed the company asking reasonable questions:

* Why was I told the fan had failed?
* What evidence supports that diagnosis?
* What happens if I spend another $1,000 and the refrigerator still has the same problem?
* Can someone in management review my case?

None of my questions have been answered. My emails have simply been ignored.

What disappointed me most was not only the repair itself but the complete lack of accountability after receiving my money.

Customers deserve accurate diagnoses, honest communication, consistent warranty information, and professional customer service.

Before hiring this company, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving expensive repairs.

I also encourage anyone considering this company to carefully research its BBB record, consumer complaints, and publicly available news coverage before making a decision.

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company
