Completely unclear about pricing, presenting you with very little diagnostics "done" for an exorbitant cost: charged $280 for less than 30 min of work which didn't involve installing a replacement part. Insisted on debit for payment. Insisted on a restocking fee and shipping and handling fee for a part that they said was ordered but offered no proof of this. I do not trust this company at all. They must pay for excellent search engine optimization so that they show up at the top of Google search results but dig a little deeper and there are many terrible reviews. Sadly for me, I was scammed.

Do not go with this company.

I was told first that $80 my cost unless I get the issue repaired by them in which will be part of the total labor cost. When technical came first, in a few second, he said he needed to check the washer completely and will cost $255 (labor) which he required me to pay right away before starting the actual testing. I thought, it is not bad to check everything even though it was way expensive. Then after 1 minute or so, he told me where the problem is with no complete testing as promised. I questioned him and said, how do you know the problem was related to his quick assessment, then he said from experience (he was not telling the truth about his detailed assessment work). This is where everything started to look fishy service, but I already paid him the labor ($255). Then he said we need to replace two part that cost $298 (which I paid half on the spot before ordering the part), which I knew was very very expensive but I was like I already paid him $255, I may as well get things done.

I was told the following week I should be getting things done. Customer representative called following week and said technical should be coming on Wednesday. The day before in the morning I got confirmation call, however, in the same day Customer representative called in the evening saying technical has something and cannot make it and reschedule it for the week after (two weeks after first diagnosis). At that point I knew that this company is nothing but unprofessional and not trustworthy.

On the day to fix the washer, he came 30 minutes late and he was in rush. When he started to fix the issue, technician said there is no need to replace the second part!! When I asked why, he said there is no need as there is no error code. But I said to him, you tested in your first visit and said both parts need to be replaced and now you are saying one only. Guess what, the part that he replaced was easy to access and replace while the other one was hard and require more time. Funny that he offered me $30 off. BTW, I checked the part that they charged me 10x based on my internet search.

Unfortunately, this is my first time dealing with such unprofessional company like this and if you ever need company to care for your appliance, there are others more professional.

My dishwasher was fixed by this team on May 8 but it started showing E 15 error on May 16. The motor kept running. I called the team but the dishwasher the technician came in May 19 after the motor kept running continuously for 4 days despite me contacting the team repeatedly. I was told that a part was ordered and when the part arrives, the dishwasher would be fixed. On Jun 1 the technician told me he has picked the part and will come to fix it. Since Jun 1 till now it’s been 6 times that the technician has booked appointments and then cancelled every time with excuses of emergence or sickness. Everytime the appointment gets booked I take off from work but the day before I am informed the tech won’t be able to come. There have been times when the technician doesn’t show up and no body informs earlier on if the appointment should be rescheduled. I have paid 1000$ for the parts and service but despite that my dishwasher has. It has not been fixed for 2 months. This is extremely unprofessional attitude from the team. I am going to post this review on every website to make sure nobody uses the dishwasher repair service. The call agents that I speak to have not been getting me in touch with the management despite multiple requests for that. This is the worse company I have come across.

This is an absolute disaster company.They came to repair the dryer 4 times charging for new parts it was a whirlpool dryer almost new.they kept putting in new parts and charged $890.00.Never have i seen such terrible service ,its been one month they came today and said another new parts was installed ,that’s what they were waiting for.They made a very big mistake however because its my children’s home and they were taken advantage of.The money part is not the issue its the terrible nature and total dishonest business practice.I don’t car if i spend $10,000, in legal bills.I am having my legal team put various claims in motion and going to present a case to the crown prosecutors office in their jurisdiction that “ they are committing fraud” shame on them but, they picked the wrong person to attempted this scam on.They need to be shut down….

Avoid these scam artists. I would take to small claims court. $300 on the spot before eye balling and removing 2 screws for $300 and then saying need $1300 of repair which by all accounts, if done correctly would last less than 1 yr! Buy a new fridge and avoid scam.

My dishwasher was and still is leaking badly. My first repair consisted of a water inlet assembly. This repair cost was over $800. It started leaking again shortly after, and I was told it was the sump pump. This repair was over $1500. I should have refused and put the money toward a new dishwasher. But he talked me into the repair. I was told to let the dishwasher sit for two days before running a cycle with the dishwasher empty. I ended up with a small pond on my kitchen floor. After complaining, I was told it would have to go to the higher-ups to decide whether I was eligible for a free repair under their warranty program. I'm not waiting for the higher-ups. I'm going to purchase a new dishwasher. I wish I had read the online reviews before using this company.

Called this company to repair our top load washer, it wasn't draining properly. Technician failed to fix the problem and after he left, the machine would not turn on. Called to get the technician to come back and was told I need to spend an additional $1200. What a rip off. Never use this company!!

Absolutely the worst experience with a home repair company ever. Complete scam, start to finish. Took me for hundreds of dollars without repairing anything. Stay away from this company. Horrible customer service. Just an experience I’ll never forget. Vile people. Vile company.

I also want to sue them - is there a way to do this cost effectively? They charged us insane fees for their service call and then said that we need to replace a part for our oven which would cost $1500. He insisted it was better than getting a new oven which do not work as well. We were idiots and believed him and he said he'd be back in 2-5 business days with the part. However it's been a month and nothing. Management doesn't return calls apparently and the customer service agents do not care at all and are very rude. They said that the part came in last week, scheduled a service technician and the day before said he got 'injured' and had to reschedule for 3 days later. When we asked why a different technician couldn't come, they said that the technician already picked up the part (lie). A day before Friday we get a call saying the part is confirmed as faulty, which doesn't make sense since clearly the first technician would have figured that out. They said that they have 'escalated' a new part to be ordered and it will be here in 2 days. When I asked how could it take 2 days when your last part took a month they told me a) there was no escalation on the prior order and b) they put a hold on my order when I asked about cancelling the entire service (which I didn't know about). Lesson learned - always look at reviews because this place is crooked.

I'm suing them for falsely claiming through their tech "Prince", that my fridge would be fixed after the part I ordered through them. I'm out $900 and my fridge still isn't working. Who wants to sue them with me.

The worst appliances repair company i ever have seen. A company, just to lie and get maximum out of you. Thats what they are. Not trustworthy. For my fridge repair, they have quoted around 1200 dollars to replace a board inside and kept me waiting for 3 weeks. they already took 750 dollars advance from me. When I checked at a later time by myself online on this part availability, realized that this board is not available anywhere and the company stopped supplying it. Soon I asked for my money back and they have charged for the technician visit and a part cost ( which I am sure no body can source) and returned a small part of advance. Clearly in capable guys. I raised a complaint in BBB ( better business buruae) against these guys before cancelling my order. I would like to give negative marks for these guys.PLEASE DO NOT GET IN TO THIS TRAP...

came with a $290 labour on first visit said it needed parts $302 for parts paid 50% returned installed parts two weeks later fridge not running again said needed another part $390. This is how they make their money include labour and inflated prices to cover labour came did not have them come a third time, but they recommended another part again $300. Do not use this company as they do not know what they’re doing and have inflated prices for everything.

My experience with **The A Team Appliance Repair** was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

The first issue is their pricing and billing practices. They require payment before actually diagnosing or repairing the appliance, and they charge separately for every step of the troubleshooting process. In my case, my refrigerator had an obvious cooling problem that was likely related to the condenser. Instead of checking the most likely cause first, the technician spent less than three minutes looking at the control board and charged me **$250** just for that brief inspection. Only after that did they charge me again to inspect the condenser, which ultimately turned out to be the actual problem.

Another major concern is their customer service. They only accepted cash or debit payment, and once they had my money, getting them to complete the job became a nightmare. I was told the replacement condenser would arrive within **3–5 days**, but I had to call the company more than **15 times** over the next 10 days just to get updates. Most of the time I received vague answers or no useful information at all. Eventually they installed the new condenser, but the refrigerator was left making a loud, unusual noise that it never had before.

When I contacted them about the new problem, I was told a technician would call me back. It has now been over a week, and I am still waiting for that call.

I also found their online reputation to be misleading. Their website prominently displays what appears to be a collection of perfect 5-star reviews, but you have to search much harder to find their actual customer feedback elsewhere. Before hiring them, I strongly recommend looking at reviews on Google, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Reddit, and Facebook to get a more balanced picture of other customers' experiences.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. The combination of excessive charges, poor communication, long delays, and lack of post-repair support made this one of the worst service experiences I've had. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for appliance repair to consider other companies before choosing The A Team Appliance Repair.

Huge scam - Comes with $80 and just open Dishwasher to show they are doing something but was just wasting time to show labour and at the end mentioned pump will need to be replaced that will cost me $2025+HST + labour cost. I called Milea and this part is in fact for $789 only. My suggestion never use their service and waste your money on this company

The A Team Appliance Repair is a scam company. They charged me upfront for diagnosing the issue with my appliance, half of the price of the part that technician said it is required to be changed, as well as the full installation cost. Technician said the other half of the part cost to be paid when the part arrives and installed by him. It is now more than 4 months and still the part has not arrived. I called many time and they always said the part is in backorder. I eventually had to file a complaint with Ontario Consumer Protection. The scam company just accepted to refund the half of the part cost if I sign a waiver. They did not refund the cost of installation that never occurred for the part that never arrived.
The A Team Appliance Repair is a total scam company and Ontario government should cancel their business license.

⚠️ PREDATORY PRACTICE / SCAM WARNING: Do not use this company.The A Team Appliance Repair charged me $1,019.93 (Invoices #222069 & #222092) to completely misdiagnose my LG refrigerator (Model LRFWS2200S) and break it further, then tried to aggressively upsell me an unnecessary $1,331.47 secondary repair.The Timeline of their Malpractice:They charged a $290 diagnostic fee for a cooling issue.They demanded 100% full payment upfront ($598.70) before ordering the part. They forced me to pay via debit card and actively refused a credit card to deliberately strip away my consumer chargeback protection.The technician installed an incompatible, lower-spec fan motor (EAU65058315 max ~3000 RPM) instead of the required high-RPM manufacturer OEM part (EAU63923603 max ~3500 RPM). The tech then pressured me to sign a completion form before the fridge was even plugged in, and illegally threatened me ("So you don't want a warranty?") when I insisted on keeping my original motor.The fridge immediately began throwing intermittent FF (Freezer Fan) failure alarms and safety shutdowns, causing my food to spoil while on vacation.They sent a second technician who performed zero physical diagnostics and tried to push a $1,331.47 main control board replacement, claiming the board was destroyed.I refused their predatory quote, researched the part specs, and verified with a multimeter that the board was supplying perfect 12V power. We solicited their services to fix a washing machine. The cost was $80 just to come and inspect - not great, but fine. Upon inspection, I was informed the cost would be $290 + tax and the machine would be ready in about 40 minutes. 40 minutes later, the technician, Hamid, told me everything is working but the drain hose is unrepairable and must be replaced, and that would cost an additional $350.

Obviously, I refused. I said I could buy a new washer for the same price. His response, “ya but you’ll be buying new washers every year because of the quality these days” — whatever that means.

I was expecting to pay $80 for the visit, but to my disappointment, the charge was for $330. Despite nothing being fixed and my machine being unworkable.

We called the company to ask for an explanation and the representative said there is nothing they could do, their manager doesn’t respond to telephone calls, and the price was final. Again, I’ll repeat, my washer was not fixed.

After hanging up, their call representative proceeded to personally call back my wife’s cell phone to advise her the call had been recorded.

Please, to whoever reads this, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

My experience with this company was extremely frustrating due to a lack of pricing transparency.

When I first called about repairing my built-in microwave, I was told there was an $80 service call fee that would be applied toward the labour cost if I proceeded with the repair. That seemed reasonable. I asked if they could give me a rough idea of what a typical microwave repair might cost so I could decide whether it was worth booking. The representative said it was impossible to estimate because labour and parts vary by job, but suggested it would likely be “a few hundred dollars.”

I was also told the technician would call me about 15 minutes before arriving, but I never received that call.

When the technician arrived, he was friendly and professional. Before doing any real diagnosis, he started removing the built-in microwave from the cabinet and immediately told me the labour charge would be $290 plus tax. This surprised me because the office had explained that labour depended on the repair, yet the technician quoted a flat price before even inspecting the appliance. He also mentioned that many microwave issues can be repaired on the spot for that amount.

At that point, I felt committed to moving forward since I had already paid the service call fee and the microwave had been removed from the cabinet.

After opening the unit, we found burn marks on some wiring. He performed a few electrical tests with a meter and concluded that the control board needed to be replaced. The quoted cost for the part alone was approximately $800, bringing the total repair to nearly $1,200 for a microwave.

I chose not to proceed because it simply wasn’t economical. However, I was still charged the full $290 plus tax for what amounted to a diagnosis, and there was no flexibility on the charge.

I’m not questioning the technician’s professionalism—he was courteous throughout the visit. My issue is with the company’s pricing and communication. I wish I had been told upfront that the diagnostic charge would be $290 after the initial service call and before any meaningful diagnosis took place. Had I known that, I would have declined the appointment and replaced the microwave instead.

I understand that repairs cost money and that parts can be expensive. However, I believe customers deserve much greater transparency about the costs they may incur before committing to a service call.

Based on my experience, I would not use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone. I left feeling like I spent nearly $300 and ended up no closer to a solution. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

This was a call for my BOSH fridge that I wanted to remove the water filter and install a bypass cartridge for the ice maker. I have filtered water anyway so no need to constantly change filters. The tech came gave me a quote for labor of $290 , took a $90.40 service call payment and said if I wanted to proceed the $90 will be deducted from the job. I called the next day and the receptionist told me that since I did not pay the full $290 up front she could not give me a full quote including parts. I have never heard of this - paying for the full labor up front and then not knowing what the parts cost would be.

So I declined and called Toronto Appliance Repair - what a difference. The receptionist knew exactly what I was talking about. Instead of replacing the filter housing he suggested a direct bypass with no new parts required.
He gave me a quote right over the phone. The Tech was very good, did the job efficiently and even provided a waster shut off in the area of the removed filter housing - very pleased.

Terrible tactic of asking for 80.00 for service call. Diagnose and ask for 280.00 for repair. Look busy for 20minutes, then state you made a wrong diagnosis. Unable to fix it but still charging $280.00. Horrible service and a Refrigerator that does not work.
