The process was faster and smoother than I expected. Comunication was prompt and clear, and I feel satisfied that I received a proper and thorough diagnosis. The psychiatrist Dr Helen Whitworth was wonderful. Highly recommended.

I’ve had a relatively decent experience going through the NHS right to choose for my ADHD diagnosis and treatment. I didn’t have to wait long really for my assessment and my medication started a little later due to my prescriber wanting me to have an eye test and an ECG completed prior to starting medication. Initial dose seemed fine, was increased and I couldn’t tolerate it. Tried calling the service on a Saturday and was greeted immediately with “are you a private patient”, which does make it feel as if the focus is on the private patients. I was advised to phone another number and leave a voice message but unlikely I would hear back from them. I missed a call and was asked to call back but they were closed so I then responded to the admin email who essential said I shouldn’t have stopped the medication. I had a call the next day by the prescriber who was actually fully sympathetic and showed an incredible amount of empathy towards me and told me I did the right thing. I was expecting an appointment, which I had written on the whiteboard and then nothing happened, which was truly disappointing. I then had a new appointment booked after sending another email to chase this. I was then booked in with another prescribing nurse who took the time to understand me and my situation before prescribing my new medication. After roughly 20+ days on the medication I had a review and the medication was increased. From the clinical side, I’ve experienced empathy and understanding. However, from the admin side who emailed on the Saturday of my query, I was not overly left feeling understood or valued.

NHS RTC for me has been relatively successful. The biggest concern I have is that there is no direct contact unless you go via the admin as the platform they use does not allow the opportunity to make contact with them.

It was super easy and fast to book an ADHD Assessment Diagnosis with them. The assessment itself was very cohesive and Dr Spencer showed a great deal of understanding and professionalism. I got my detailed report back next day and all contact has been swift. Their pharmacy also contacted me within 3 working days. I would recommend Berkeley Psychiatrists to anyone who suspects they have ADHD.

I chose this company via the NHS right to choose and I am exceptionally glad I did. They are not perfect, however, I had an appointment quickly (I cant remember how long I waited but it was no longer than a couple of months, could have been less). My video appointment was excellent. I was treated with respect and kindness. I was diagnosed and received an appointment for discussing medication within a month. Im now having monthly appointments to review the medication. I would make sure you check what you need to prepare before each appointment as each time they have neglected to send me the relevant information but this is the only thing I can report as negative and the oversight was easily rectified each time. Just make sure before each stage, you check what forms or information they are going to need on the day of appointment. I assume theres a bit of a glitch in the admin for pre-appointments but given the chaos there is generally surrounding the demand on right to choose and the nhs regarding neuro-diverse diagnosis and the horror stories I've heard regarding other right to choose companies, I think Berkeley Psychiatrists are doing incredibly well at supplying a service which is quick and comprehensive. Everyone I have spoken to (including the admin team) have been kind and helpful. I have previously left answer machine messages and have duly been called back in good time. I have had to change appointment days and this has been done with no fuss at all. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone seeking an ADHD diagnosis and/or titration.

He was always great to work alongside, listened to me properly and made me feel supported throughout the process.
