What a rip off
What a rip off, they rip you off politely and in the most cordial of ways, they lure you into spending £96.00 for "diagnosis", at the end of a working day, only to be told they can't diagnose without taking the car apart and need more time. Basically paid a ridiculous amount of money to be told the car cannot be diagnosed and that is after guaranteeing a job will be done and driving over 40 miles for it. A con of a garage. Avoid at all costs and save yourselves time & money.
Outrageous and dam right disgusted
Please share far and wide *fastlane autocare* St Helens.
I wouldn't even give this rip off garage a 1 star. Took half the bill up front payment, of extortionate amount! Man stipulated for parts. 4 weeks on after numerous calls for updates, lie after lie after lie, stated they would have if ready but STILL haven't. I then asked for them to return my vehicle, as they are clearly incompetent, one man stated to give him an hour to get it out!!! NOW refusing to give me MY property back and demanding I pay a further 1k or they won't release it. They have done NO work on my vehicle, how can they demand more funds for no service provided?? **STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE. MARK OAKLEY is a fraudulent.
I AM A VETERAN AND SERVED THIS COUNTRY TO BE TREATED IN THIS DISGUSTING WAY
Stressful and disappointing experience
Dropped my 2012 Citroen C4 diesel into Fastlane Autocare in St. Helens at 9am last Wednesday morning to have a new clutch/flywheel and ABS rear wheel sensor fitted at a cost of almost £1,600 plus VAT. Initially told to call back at 3: 30pm for an update, but agent did say given the age of the vehicle, completion could possibly run to the next morning. A call at 3:30pm confirmed it wasn’t ready and I should call at 10am Thursday .
The car wasn’t ready next morning, and wasn’t returned to us until 3pm on Friday, almost three working days after I had dropped it off. Despite several calls for progress updates, we were given no apology or explanation for the delay, other than them having to replace a hose on Friday morning while they were re-assembling (although their technician had managed to find further faults which they could repair for £580 plus VAT).
We eventually saw the manager who was completely indifferent to the fact that we had been badly inconvenienced by their failure to commit to a delivery time and date, and his response to every question was it was an old car and they always take longer.
Eventually, my wife asked if his only answer was “ Tough, it’s an old car .What do you expect”. He said “Yeah, that’s about it”
When I expressed dissatisfaction with his answer and attitude he said he was terminating the conversation as I was just repeating myself, he had work to do and I was boring him!
A stressful experience with a business that seems to have no interest in customer satisfaction and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
Had my motorcycle for over 7 MONTH'S
Had my motorcycle in for an oil change, fork seals and diagnostics to cure over reving (possibly tps switch). After over 7 months of phone calls/ messages i finally went to the garage and demanded they release the bike, even then they were trying to say it was awaiting reassembly, I could see it through the open door ? Told to give them an hour so went for some breakfast, then got a call saying it would take them til the end of the day to reasemble it ? Told them I would be back in 30 minutes , got another call 10 minutes later saying it was ready, on inspection the fork seals had been done but no evidence the oil and filters had been changed, Paid up front for collection and parts/labour , just wished I had read the reviews first. Whilst in the shop there were 3 angry customers awaiting answers about overcharging, poor workmanship and lack of communication. STAY AWAY from this place, You have been warned !!!
What a joke!
Mobile mechanic came the same day to diagnose the problem. Yes, they could fix it in a couple of days. After paying for recovery and the work up front, funnily enough it needed another part and couldn't be released without it being done and paid for up front of course. Gave them a time I was going to collect after the second fix and it was parked in the middle of a load of other cars and had to wait like an inconvenience while they got it out. Issue still isn't resolved but can only be looked at if I take it back, tricky with a car that won't always start. The parts are only guaranteed if looked at in the garage, again car won't always start. The mobile mechanics that were able to fit me in the same day I first called are now suddenly booked up for weeks. Ridiculous company.
Used this company to come and diagnose…
Used this company to come and diagnose a brake light issue the fee was £175 the next day someone came out to take a look they was unable to take my rear brake light out so I did it for him he then spent about 2 minutes looking not touching anything and said probably water getting in.
No diagnostic machine used nothing I've contacted the company to say this and its all recorded on camera and there refusing to refund any funds back they said we only have my side of the storey and need to speak with the mechanic it's been 5 days and still not heard anything.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ITS A COMPLETE PAY UPFRONT SCAM AND THEY DONT DIAGNOSE ANYTHING.
Relay bad--£973 ?arrived Oct 18th 9 am computer said…
arrived Oct 18th 9 am computer said blower relay faulty. do not know part or position gone by 9:30 for £173 !
Promised callback never came, chased until 23rd when Fastlane said needs garage work £800 ?! I said NO.
Great and prompt service
Great service and really informative, would highly recommend them.
ABSOLUTE RIP OFF
If only I'd read the reviews first. Absolutely the worst rip off company I've ever dealt with. DO NOT USE!!!
Phoned for a mobile tyre replacement
Phoned for a mobile tyre replacement, they located a tyre I needed to be fitted, which they collected and arrived shortly after, tyre fitted by Jon, many thanks, from John
Be careful..,
If the garage in St Helens gives you a quote or a recommendation for a repair, I would strongly suggest that you get a second opinion.
Mark
Mark did a fab job on my caravan. definitely a great asset to the company
Booked a service on a boat engine
Booked a service on a boat engine - paid over £570 and then cancelled the appointment 10 minutes later. Made 6 calls to them and was promised a refund but nothing - effectively fleeced for £570. Please do not use they are charlatans
Con artists and thieves
Con artists and thieves don’t believe them they’ve not completed the work on my vehicle they’ve had it 2 years and will neither return it or refund me. The manager is a liar and a cheat the whole company is scam! Don’t use them, don’t trust them and don’t give them any money. I hope this saves even one person the problems I’ve had with this company.
The worst company in history
The worst - I only gave 1 star as no option to give less!
AVOID
Completely wrote off our machine whilst attending a service.
No response at all!
Total con artists
Total con artists - I paid over £250 for a kid to come out and tell me what I knew already! Rip off merchants. Avoid at all costs.
Trained Criminals!
Disgusting CON ARTISTS! , I payed £230 to have someone come out and inpect my camper and give me a qoute to install solar panels. After "Logan Newsome" booked me in a mechanic came out and took some pictures of my camper. After this I heard nothing back I rang multiple times asking what going on they promise to reply but dont. This company is the lowest form of SCUM. They are trained criminals. (I wish I'd read the reviews first)
WARNING!!! Slow Lane Money Care!!!
I contacted Fastlane Autocare from the campsite I was staying, on Wednesday June 23rd 2021 about the roof of my campervan not rising. The person on the phone asked me to pay £216.00p upfront for an inspection on Friday 25th June 2021.
Then a person from Fastlane visited the campsite on Friday 25th June and diagnosed that a new motor was required, plus a new rooftop seal to prevent further water leaking which could damage another motor.
Later the same day another person rang me from Fastlane and asked for £1,860.00 upfront, stating that the van would be repaired on Monday 28th June 2021.
I made the payment, but I waited all day Monday and no-one arrived, so I began to contact Fastlane on a regular basis to find out what was going on. But I was unsuccessful, the calls were either cut off or someone continually made excuses that the parts required for my van had not arrived.
After returning home from my holiday I decided to write a letter to Fastlane and I sent it via tracking mail on Saturday 10th July 2021, requesting a full refund of the money I paid. Fastlane received the letter on Tuesday 13th July but they gave no response whatsoever.
On Thursday 29th July 2021 I visited Fastlane in person with my Dad to request a full refund of the money. But I was told by the manager that the motor would arrive shortly, and my van would be repaired on Monday 2nd August 2021. But this did not happen.
However, on Thursday 5th August 2021, a person from Fastlane arrived to install a new motor and rooftop seal in the campervan. The motor was fitted but the roof still would not rise.
I was contacted again by Fastlane and was told that I needed to pay approximately an additional £750.00 upfront for a new control panel. But having already spent so much money already I refused to pay any additional money to Fastlane. I therefore purchased the control panel myself online, surprisingly at a cost of only £29.50.
I received the replacement control panel, and it was installed by a local garage on Wednesday 1st September 2021. But the roof would still not rise. Then the garage did a thorough test on all electrics, plus the two control panels and the motor fitted by Fastlane. They diagnosed that Fastlane had fitted a faulty motor.
I then made many phone calls to Fastlane for a replacement motor over the following weeks, but they only resulted in empty promises and additional excuses for why the part had not arrived, even going so far as to blame their suppliers for the delays.
Tired of waiting for Fastlane to respond, on Friday October 8th 2021 my Dad and I again visited Fastlane to request a full refund of the money. But Fastlane refused and made even more excuses as to why the parts hadn`t arrived.
I then decided to take matters into my own hands and ordered a second-hand motor, in working order from E-bay, at a cost of £79.19.
I then took my van to a garage near Chester on Friday October 15th 2021, they managed to fit the second hand motor and diagnosed that one motor was full of water and needed replacing. But despite having two replacement motors fitted into the roof, it still would not rise so they did a thorough test on all electrics and diagnosed that the micro switches had failed and that the roof would need to be lifted off to replace them. But they did not have the facilities to carry out the task.
After a series of failed attempts to find another suitable garage, I eventually took the van to Bongo Spares, in West Yorkshire on Friday December 10th. After a thorough inspection they found that Fastlane had misdiagnosed the problems with the van on several counts:
A. Two motors had failed in the roof not one.
B. The cable controlling the rooftop had broken.
C. A leaky roof had caused water to damage the roof electrics; replacing motor/motors only was inadequate to repair the van.
D. No problem was detected with the seal; thus, a new seal was not required.
E. The seal provided by Fastlane was the incorrect type and even if required would not have been suitable to repair the van. It was only suitable to repair a door.
F. The van had a leaky roof caused by a roof rack having been removed at some point in its’ history, leaving holes for water to leak onto electrics. Thus, the entire roof needed replacing.
Bongo Spares successfully fitted the new roof at a price of £650.00, plus an extra £260.00 towards the 4-hour labour to remove the old roof and fit the new one. This altogether cost £910.00, which does not even come close to the amount which Fastlane unnecessarily charged me. Counting both the £216.00 they took for inspection and £1,860.00 for the repairs, Fastlane altogether took £2,076.00 from me, FOR REPAIRS THEY COULD NOT EVEN HANDLE!!
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE
Paid £214 for A/C re-gas only to be told pressure switch needs replacing they quoted £850 to change it.
I can buy the part for £30 and have it fitted by a local mechanic for £100.
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star- avoid
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. ❌Avoid ❌My car was booked in for November for a timing chain, told it would be a day and paid the upfront £1000 deposit, I get a call the following day saying it is actually a week they need the car which I could live with as long as it was getting fixed. After a week I was having to chase up, got no calls about what was happening at all, always saying can we just have it one more day which was the same thing every day eventually ‘Tony’ said one of the lads had ‘fu**ed it’ (his words) when putting it back together causing an oil leak, meaning a delay. They then came across rear breaks and pads at a further cost of £540+ so I agreed initially but after 1 hour I made a call back to say actually don’t do but was told they have already made a start even though they told me they don’t make a start unless taking a further deposit for that work! Again as I was having to ring and chase for updates on my car, I was then told that the parts for the breaks had not arrived and that is why they needed it even longer (after telling me days before they had made a start and I couldn’t cancel in order to get more money from me). After 2 weeks I finally got my car back, was assured by ‘Tony’ I would be able to get some form of discount for all the hassle as the work had cost £2550+. Go in to pick it up, things became heated during conversation as they said no I was not getting a discount and the manager ‘Ben’ came out to try explain why. Said they took the engine lid off and there was old oil there which of corse he will say, they had another disco in having breaks and pads done and that was the car they was talking about even though I had gave my name and reg in, and basically that they fixed my leak for free as they had came across it during the works so that is why I was not getting a discount. Paid and left cos they are a bunch of numptys. January, car goes into Hatfields on a recall, during a check they find an oil leak, it was returned to these as it was under a form of warranty, was told to bring it for 10am it will be an hour for diagnostic, I don’t live near so went off for 4 hours. I went back for 2pm and it had not even been looked at! When they finally did look I was told yes it was the side they worked on so book it in and we will fix it free of charge. Booked in the following week which I couldn’t make due to being quite ill, rang and spoke to ‘Tony’ who said ok bring it the week after, I go and he looked at me in horror realising he had forgot to book me in on the system, saying another car had to be returned to another country and took priority. It was booked in the following week, met by a different employee (sacked Tony cos he obviously said the truth and didn’t have a clue about cars) had it majority of the day, took a call to say the leak was coming from above where they had worked and not touched it so not fixing it and tried quoting me 500+ comical! I’ve spoken to multiple garages who have told me they would of had to remove the rocker cover gasket were the leak is to get to the timing chain to fix! It is back in a garage having the full timing chain re done as they have left it in a state and are denying all responsibility But they just wanted more money. They operate under different names to dodge the reviews just wish I had seen them before booking, search fast fit, fast lane, the car dr. Nothing fast about them, poor communication, poor customer service. Coakley must be laughing with all our money and ripping everyone off! I’d feel ashamed to work or be associated with that place. Have reported to trading standards, informed your local newspaper and seeking legal representation. Goodluck 😂
