Terrible service. Took a double payment without telling!

AVOID AVOID AVOID, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
By far the worst leasing company I have dealt with. They have managed to put me off leasing cars for life. My new PURCHASED car gets delivered next week. 86% of your customers review give 1 star that would be 0 star if there was the option. Very pleased that your profits have nose dived £400 million this year, you deserve it for how you treat your customers.

I don't understand why so many negative reviews. My experience with Lex was outstanding. Yes, it took a lot of time to get someone work on my case for a severe mechanical issue on my car but once I got a manager things were excellent.

I just want to thank Meghan B. for being the most amazing person and helping me with everything she could so I can end my lease and get a new vehicle. Thanks to her, I can now enjoy a functional vehicle and go on with my plans.

After 30 years leasing vehicles this company bar far is the most criminal. Average of 1 star accorss all platforms speaks volumes.
Amended contract for with mileage increase, we recieve the acceptance email and the price goes up as expected. We pay for 10 months the new amount. after handover the take £1000 for additional mileage. We complain and the make up lies and tell us the contract amendment did not go through? No emails or correspondence from them to prove they told us otherwise timed out, yet the agreed new higher amount was taken. We will be starting small claims court and will request the CEO to attend court. Someone will have to explain in court why they have charged us. Disgusting.

I returned Lease Car early as downsized out of financial necessity and personal circunstances.
Lex in particular Stephen Shuttleworth was extremely empathetic . We agreed a payment plan and structured to minimise levels of stress which was a decision made and huge lifestyle change.
I would have no hesitation recommending Lex as they showed a human side to business practice.
At same time a major Bank showed the total opposite and have been relentless and totally callous.
I take full responsibility for decisions and good to know some companies do have individuals who care.

I ordered a vehicle as part of the salary sacrifice scheme through my workplace and the lex Autolease portal. The application process went quite well and I committed to the order in October 2024. I was advised my stock date was 11/2024. 1 week before the stock date and after personally paying for an EV charge point, I was told my stock date was moved to March 2025! With no guarantee that it won’t be moved again. I subsequently have spoken to no less than 4 individuals requesting an alternative colour to see if this will speed up the process and all of them telling me different things. The dealership lex uses (pendragon) for sourcing cars doesn’t even respond to messages and if you try calling them, they never answer the phone. Bottom line is, don’t order from this company and definitely don’t enter into a salary sacrifice scheme with Lex. I have never seen bigger cowboys than these guys. They can’t even get stock of vehicles they are advertising and unless you’re willing to wait months on end for your car or get sent on a merry go-round, go somewhere else!. It’s crazy to think I have not even received my car yet or started paying them and they are treating me like this. I can only imagine what they would be like once I’m fully locked in! This review is based on a genuine experience. If I could give negative stars I would and all the other reviews are 100% accurate.

Only had problems when handing the car back - we disputed some of the damage to the vehicle as we were being charged an extortionate amount. After only two months they entered a default on our credit record with no prior warning despite the fact we were in contact with them. - appalling customer service. We have paid the bill in full, but the default still remains on our records and they refuse to amend this.

An absolute disgrace of a company. My fully maintained Audi A3 has broken down for the second time (same fault which was replaced last time), and Lex are refusing a courtesy car. Apparently it was an option that was not selected when the contract was taken out - this is despite me trying to order a new contract whilst on the phone and pointing out that the only two options are "Maintenance Included" or "Maintenance Not Included". They will lie to make their lives easier. I will never use these people again, and nor should you. I now have now way of collecting my daughter from nursery. Peace of mind my arse. Useless.

Towards the end of my lease, I got concerned by seeing so many bad reviews, but I honestly cannot fault LEX. I had a 4-year lease and never had issues. The online portal is easy to use and all my phone / email interactions with their customer services team were smooth and addressed my needs, including authorisation to drive the vehicle outside UK and informal extension for the lease. They talked through my concerns in simple terms and actioned each case exactly as they said they would. I respect the other reviewers and their complaints but from my experience, I found LEX a very reliable company to deal with. Worth mentioning that the collection process, managed by BCA, was also very professional and smooth. Finally, I highlight that based on my experience, I would not hesitate in using LEX again.

See a lot of bad reviews for this company but I honestly cannot fault them, had a 3 year lease out on a car and never had any issues, the online portal is easy to navigate around. I had to contact them a few weeks back as I was terminating the lease a few months early and a friend was purchasing the vehicle that was on lease. every single phone call to get this all set up went very well with excellent customer service and friendly staff who talked through the whole process in simple terms easy to understand, and exactly as they said the whole process went smoothly with no issues. I am not saying the other reviews are wrong as I don,t know the history behind them , but from my own experience I found Lex Autolease to be very easy and friendly to deal with and going out of their way to assist and guide through the various processes. If I ever need to lease again they will certainly be my first point of contact

Avoid this company with a personal lease car. My car broke down and it is going to be 2 months untill it can be repaired by the Peugeot dealership. No courtesy car and lex are not interested. I have to pay 350 per month for a product I cannot use. They have been so unhelpful and I have had to do all the phone calls etc to get my car recovered and booked in to the local garage.

Total lack of customer service we have a car on a 4 year lease from Lex its been in the garage more than its been out extra time was taken because the garage were waiting for Lex to approve the work.No reimbursement for not being able to use the car for over a month no curtesy car i need to go to the hospital every other day for treatment when I complained they came back to me and said we now have a resolution for your complaint there isn't one as there's nothing we can do.Total lack of customer care not helpful in the slightest I told them I wouldn't make my monthly payment and was told I would be in breach of my contract so I said well I expected a car that works so you are in breach of your contract and I was told to go and read the small print. The car goes back in 10 months I have leased a car every three years for over 20 years and this is the very worst leasing company I have ever known if you want to lease a car DO NOT USE LEX

I took two car leases out with Lex Autolease, the first time went well, after 3 years my lease was up, i polished the car prior to collection, T cutting out any marks, when the gentleman collected it he told me i should not have cleaned it so well and should have just sent it back dirty so to hide any minor scratches or marks. So on my second lease i took his advice and sent the car back as it was, to my horror i got a bill for about £800 for scratches which i new where only light scratches caused by brambles sticking out of the hedges in the rural area that i live and they would easily polish out, when i queried this and asked to see the damaged they told me the car had been moved on to auction and that i would not be able to view it and they then brought the settlement price down by half which was still totally out of order as the car had been looked after and only needed a good polish. I will never have a lease with Lex Autolease again and would advise anyone thinking of using them to reconsider as they are dishonest and just try to have you away at the end.

The world of car leasing is a murky one ! My 3 star review I not just based on Lex but car leasing as a way of getting a new car.

On paper it's a much cheaper way of getting into a new car but hey guess what that's on paper.

Any damage beyond the very lightest of everyday wear you will be charged for at a premium rate.

The dealings I had with Lex were OK communication was acceptable and the on line portal is easy to register and use.

You need to make changes it's easy but it will cost you unfairly in my opinion wether it's a decrease or increase in milage or ending your contract early by a few months you will have to pay an unfair price imo.

Before you commit remember you need at least 3 payments in advance to keep the monthly payment down.

Remember to allow at least £500 before it goes back for damage repairs go to a local body shop ask them to check it over a few week before you reture the vehicle.

Weigh up all the costs it's not your car except emwhen something goes wrong then it's your responsibility !

My advice buy a 12 month old car from a dealer with a bank loan if you have good credit history it will work out more cost effective.

Upon agreement they give you the option to sell via Third Party within your lease term or at the end to pay your settlement figure.
HOWEVER, what they don't tell you is the procedure they use to enable you to do so is so flawed that it's verging on criminal!

First - it's extremely difficult to secure a buyer when they find out the vehicle is on finance.
Secondly - When you've actually been lucky enough to agree a sale to a third party, you send Lex the buyers details - LA then send an 'email' with a payment link to potential buyer. This is where you lose your potential buyer.

To note. Webuyanycar won't touch them with a barge pole either - that says a lot!

Nobody in their right mind would pay a substantial amount via a link in an email to a company who they haven't heard of!

Lex are fully aware of this and it enables them to have you tied into their lease payments.

BEWARE - even if you get to the end of your lease and you have your settlement figure, you will Not be able to sell it to a third party!
You're unable to pay the settlement yourself as the vehicle must be sold to third party.

You're left in a situation where you're left leasing an old vehicle at inflated prices or handing back to Lex for them to dispose for you - in other words, send to auction. You as the leaseholder will then have to pay the shortfall in sale price.

In short - DO NOT pay any attention to having the option to sell to a third party. Absolute con artists and should be held accountable with the FCA.

They now have our hands tied & we're having to cancel our new vehicle.

Hats off to them though - they've been clever about it though 'giving you the option to sell via Third party' but then making it impossible via their payment / email system!

I have had a terrible experience so far with lex autolease. The first time I tried to order a car they tell me their website prices are wrong and jack up the price. Ok, so I cancel. Several months later I try to order a car again, this time they just don’t progress my order and ignore my emails. They don’t even have any of my money yet and are doing their best to demonstrate incompetence. I will be telling my employer about my experience.

never trust this firm! Having paid up my monthly payment and handed back the car and having been assured by the office there was nothing more to pay I am still beibg harrrassed by emails asking for payment three months later .
DO NOT USE THIS FIRM THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!

If it were possible to give 0 stars, that's what I would have given. I've had a Kia Niro with a fault for over 6 months. Kia are still unable to even diagnose the fault and Lex Autolease are unwilling to apply any pressure, allow me to return the car early without penalty or help in any way really! I've been sent a £200 cheque for 'loss of enjoyment' but this really is not what I wanted at all. I just wanted them to help me either get my faulty car repaired or rejected. Now I'm stuck with it for another 18 months and they could not care less. Their attitude on the phone is absolutely appalling and it's very much a 'can't do' attitude - they literally couldn't care less. I really did think Arval were bad until I was unlucky enough to lease a car from Lex Autolease.

Perfect 3 year personal lease, not sure why they have so many 1 star reviews!

Had a personal 3 year lease car. Everything available to do online via account. Arranged an early termination and sent back with no issues at all. Car collected by BCA and not only were end of lease charges very fair, but Lex actually wrote off some of the damage charges without us even asking.

Very easy to reach on the phone and polite and helpful when I had a few queries.

Excess mileage charged as expected and paid, no bother.

Overall very positive and would be very happy to take another lease with these guys!

Our next one is Santander, so we see how that goes

Lease car with maintenance as part of the contract, so if you have a flat you have to use Kwik Fit. With one front tyre just below limit and the other just above, Lex only authorise the replacement of one tyre.
