Meaco (U.K.) Limited Reviews 

I bought one of the new tower fans last week when they were released, so impressed with it, I've bought another today. Powerful, many useful features, very reasonable price, exceptional value for money. Quiet, economical to run. Looks smart. Takes up little floor space.

The panel failed on my Arete One and I had to send it back for repair under warranty. It took a bit of chasing at first but they came through in the end, getting my dehumidifier back to me (in working order) within a couple of weeks. Good choice of couriers too, DPD and DX, who were reliable. By the way, it's best to retain the original packaging someone in case of repair.

I've had my MeacoDry Arete One 18L for about three years and it's been a solid dehumidifier — when it works. Recently, the power button stopped responding (the unit would beep and show a faint light, but nothing else).

The Good:

· Once I finally got through, the warranty repair was approved and carried out free of charge.
· The repair itself was quick - they replaced the display PCB, temperature sensors, and return air sensor.
· The unit now works perfectly again.

The Not-So-Good:

· Getting a response from Meaco customer service was painfully slow. I waited weeks for replies to emails.
· I was told a packaging box would be sent to me for collection - it never arrived. I had to find my own box to avoid missing the collection date.
· Ironically, the box they promised finally turned up after my repaired unit had already been delivered back to me.

Final Verdict:
The product is good, and the warranty repair was honoured, but the customer service process was frustrating and disjointed. If Meaco improves their communication and follow-through, they'd be a much stronger brand.

Would I buy again? Possibly, but I'd think twice and compare other options first.

Ordered a 10" Sefte fan. Overall, pleased with the product and would be happy to order another product from Meaco again.

I did have a minor issue with the battery tray for the remote control not fitting correctly after changing the cell battery, but this has now been resolved by the customer service team.

I have Severe Asthma and the high humidity levels we're experiencing this summer have made my Asthma go our of control, I was advised to buy a dehumidifier, I bought one but it didn't reduce the humidity levels, so I returned it and got a refund. I bought the Meaco Arete One and it is absolutely amazing, I set the levels to 40% which is the correct level for Asthmatics, I can honestly say that within a short time of turning the machine on the humidity levels in my lounge came down front 70% humidity to 40% what a relief for me, I can actually breathe normal again, I would definitely recommend this for any Asthmatics. Thank You Meaco 🙂

Meaco cirro 14000 Btu, got to give it to them on this, best portable ac out there by far, I did see some YouTube videos that were saying it’s not quite, well no ac is silent, it can’t be done, but what they have done is make it very quiet, no louder than an average fan on level two, people who think it’s loud need to try some other portable ac units, I have, cirro the best by long shot

A quick and easy return system with a very quick turnaround on repair. Was kept informed at every step of the process. Can't fault their customer service.

Our dehumidifier broke down. I contacted Meaco and got an instant response as to what I should do. They sent me a new box to put the dehumidifier into, a delivery company came to collect it three days ago and I've just received a service report from them listing the work that was done, including a full clean up. I don't recall ever having a company deal with repairs so efficiently. And their products are rather impressive 👍

Tried to order a dehumidifier twice. Arete One arrived broken (always read a humidity of 20%). Tried again Arete Two, didn't even power up. These were used dehumidifiers from the official eBay store, both were obviously untested. Total waste of time. Buy from company that actually tests their products.

Bought a meaco dehumidifier just under 3 years ago, now stopped working.
Support seems to be useless and spare parts are unavailable.
Guess I'll be buying another brand to replace it......

Very disappointed that the Meaco 20L Low Energy dehumidifier, only around 5 years old, has now failed as it is not collecting water and stays on about 75% humidity despite setting it lower at around 45-50%. Never happened before and nothing has changed in the area that it is used in. Unit now worthless and was not cheap at the start!

I’ve found Meaco customer service to be excellent. I bought a Sefte 10ins desktop fan before the recent heat waves but unfortunately, the rechargeable battery stopped recharging. I was sent a new fan and then returned the faulty one. This fan is incredibly quiet and I highly recommend it.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I, originally contacted them on the 12th of July having bought the unit on the 8th and finding out it only cooled for an hour. I got no response until the 24th a that only appeared to occur after I managed to call and speak to someone on the 20th. Their response was to send me a list of around 20 questions with all bar 2 already answered in my original message.

The next response I got was on the 4th of August with very generic advice for things to try that were of no use at all. They did ask me to take pictures and send those in, which I did and am still waiting for a response to that message.

So, the very thing you need an air conditioning unit for in the UK is to help in hot weather and 2 heatwaves have been met with no ability to cool my property.

This is the worst customer experience I’ve ever had and their inability to react in a timely manner is poor.

Whilst this is ongoing they keep bombarding me with promotional emails!

I will never buy from them again even if they fix my unit.

I bought a Meaco fan two months ago and was delighted with it. Unfortunately when I went to plug it it in on the hottest night of the year the top pin on the plug snapped off and I couldn’t use it. How frustrating and disappointing. When I rang the following day I was told the plug was not covered by the warranty. I then set out to buy a replacement plug which was impossible. Most if not all electrical goods come ready wired. This is a very good safety feature but at the moment of little use to me. I am so disappointed and don’t know where to turn especially when there are rumours of yet another heatwave.
I am very disappointed that an item that cost almost £100 lasted only 2 months and ultimately it didn’t function as I expected and I have a very lukewarm response from Meaco.
I am also very surprised that I am constantly being told how busy they are in this hot weather. I am very hot also. Could they not employ some more staff to deal with this unexpected rise in emails and phone calls?

Following up on my previous review on how a warranty claim seemed impossible via email. So I ended up phoning and someone very helpful took all my details and said they would raise it to the warranty team, at this point my hopes were low. But under 2 weeks later my dehumidifier has been sent to them, fixed, sent back to me and now working again. Top stuff Meaco and advice for others is to call up even though you have to waste 5 minutes talking to an AI bot.

Reposting my reviews as have been notified by “trusted shops” that it has been removed saying it’s “not based on experience of the product”. Add to that I never heard back from meaco about my issues so my opinion is now even lower!

“Concerned damaged in transit but no reply to emails, meaco air con unit was delivered on its side and dragged it to front door without a trolley. Didn’t help bring it into the house just left on door step on its side. Emailed my concerns to meaco, no reply. Then noticed loud chugging sound and issue with temperature on night mode not matching that on app. Emailed meaco, no reply. Really disappointed. I understand they are busy but it’s been over a week and nothing. I’m sure they will reply eventually but I’d like to know if this product is faulty and return if so”

16.9 - following the response below from Meaco I would like to note that you have not been in touch, I have still yet to receive any reply from you to my emails.

I was lucky enough to get a Cirro 16,000 BTU cooling only direct from Meaco and used it for the first time from last Thursday. Amazing, powerful and quiet. Admittedly I can sleep through most noise. In reality it is a bit like white noise. I am surprised at the cost of running from about £7 last Thursday to £4 on Sunday. An awesome amazing machine!

Customer service is a complete joke all their Customer Service dept can do is pass messages for a call back within 3 working says.
Waiting for a call back from 4th June
17th June, 1st July,7th July, 3rd August.
Still waiting buy a Dreo instead or hope everything works and you never need ro use the warranty or purchase spares

We have a Meaco Arete 1 dehumidifier which we find works really well and is easy to use.
Unfortunately it stopped working a few months ago with the control panel failing.
I contacted the helpline and dealt with the AI assistant who decided I required to talk to a customer services representative.
The person was very helpful and listened to my issues.
They ran me through how to organise a repair claim, which I did.
It took a while to organise due to the hot weather and Meaco being very busy. They kept us informed during the wait and eventually contacted us to collect our machine for repair.
It was collected, repaired and returned very quickly. I opened the box and was impressed with how clean and fresh our machine was. I plugged it in and it sprang into life.and all seems well again. Thanks Meaco!!

Had a faulty MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifier, almost 2 years old. Returned it on the Saturday and got it back on the Wednesday, how about that for great service 🙂. I do have 2 more of these, because they are brilliant in colder weather for drying out the air and clothes. Great company to deal with.
