We needed a last minute mental health deep clean. Life had been lifing and we needed help.
Communication was excellent from the first contact, to the end. They were supportive in ensuring we could access the services they offered.

On the day two wonderful gentlemen turned up.

They worked hard throughout their allotted time.

They were fast but didn’t let speed affect their thoroughness

We never felt judged everyone from my first email to the gents leaving were professional and kind.

It was difficult for us to reach out for help, we just wish we’d done it sooner.

We will be using them again in the future.

We fully recommend anyone who needs extra help but is embarrassed please don’t be reaching out was the best thing we did. Thank you all at Mel’s cleaning.

I booked a 16-hour deep clean and organisation service with Mel’s Cleaning and was left extremely disappointed. While the carpet cleaning was well done and the cleaners were polite and friendly, the rest of the service fell far below expectations.

Despite providing written instructions and drawer organisers, only one wardrobe and a couple of drawers were organised — nowhere near what was agreed. The oven was left in poor condition (despite being included in the scope), mirrors and shower screens were streaky, and a shower door was left not closing properly. I also specifically asked for the bathroom grout to be cleaned, which was completely missed.

I was working late and couldn’t be home to check the clean in person — but the team also left an hour early and leaving me no chance to go through the walk through.

When I raised these issues with the company, they dismissed my concerns, denied responsibility, and refused to offer any form of resolution. Their reply leaned heavily on their terms and conditions, ignoring the fact that much of the work simply wasn’t completed.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all services in the UK must be carried out with reasonable care and skill and match what was promised. That legal responsibility doesn’t disappear just because the customer isn’t present at the end. What I received was rushed, incomplete, and handled poorly when I raised concerns.

I paid a premium price expecting a thorough and professional service. Sadly, this experience has left me feeling disappointed and let down. I would not recommend Mel’s Cleaning based on this

Thank you for your response.

I want to clarify that I only left this review after waiting for a reply to my most recent email, which I am still waiting on. Your last email indicated you didn't want to communicate further. It’s disappointing to receive a detailed public response here before receiving any further communication directly.

While you have highlighted the grout cleaning point, that was just one of several areas I was unhappy with. I raised it with the team in person on the day, but more broadly, the organisation of drawers and wardrobes, oven cleaning, and finishing details like mirrors were not completed to the standard I was expecting from a deep clean.

I also have photographic evidence showing that key parts of the service outlined in the booking confirmation were not fulfilled. It seems there may be a difference in expectations around what a “deep clean” includes, but I based mine on the scope provided and the time booked.

Throughout this process, I’ve tried to communicate politely and constructively. I believe a partial refund would have been a fair and reasonable resolution. Unfortunately, due to the lack of a satisfactory response or resolution, I’m now considering pursuing the matter through small claims court.

I’m not someone who takes to reviews to deface a company without just cause — in fact, I likely would have left a positive review had my emails been properly acknowledged and some accountability taken.

Great communication throughout and my kitchen was cleaner than my landlord gave it to me. Honestly would recommend, the place is spotless

If I could give this company and especially Fred and Leon a million stars I would, these two extremely professional kind, non judgemental men have literally changed my life in a day, they turned up on time sat where they could and worked out a plan to transform my flat from un-livable to a home, every step of the way they involved me, fyi they travelled from Luton to Chester with 12 hours notice actually 2 of the funniest people I have met and the first time I have smiled and laughed in 2 years, they are absolutely amazing, I can not recommend this company enough, they have an amazing very quick service and the workers literally do not leave anything not cleaned, these two have helped me so much with my mental health and I can finally live my life properly, there will never be enough words to thank Mel and her team, really life changing and life saving, I could go on for hours, again thank you you don't know what you actually did for me xxxx

Mel’s Cleaning provided a wonderful and efficient cleaning service at an affordable cost. Their team was professional, thorough, and attentive to detail. Our home looked better, and the affordability did not compromise the quality. Highly recommend their services for anyone in need of top-notch cleaning.

I would absolutely recommend that you find a different company to do your cleaning. We paid nearly £1000 pounds for our newly purchased house to be cleaned and I really regret it.
On the plus side, the cleaners came on the right date, the carpets look great and the upstairs isn't bad at all.
However, the downstairs was barely touched. There's dust and grime and dead bugs out in the open which were just left there.
We paid for oven cleaning but that wasn't done. It's still completely filthy.
The admin from the company has been hostile throughout, even before the cleaning took place. They sent the link for payment by email in advance and then chased me angrily by both email and text message around two hours into the day asking why I hadn't paid. I don't think that's long enough to start hounding clients.
That experience almost put me off following through with the booking - now I wish I hadn't given them the benefit of the doubt and gone ahead.
When I raised concerns after the cleaning about the rooms that weren't done, I didn't hear anything for a week. When I chased, they sent an email saying that the case had been closed. My concerns weren't addressed and there was no explanation or reasons given. I asked again but I didn't get any response.
I wouldn't quibble over small issues or missed patches, but this was a big and pervasive issue. When I asked if they would come back and clean the bits that were skipped or if they would give a partial refund (I only asked for the oven cleaning fee back because that part was definitely skipped) the company didn't reply.

Run a mile, find an alternative. I'll never get my money back.

UPDATE FOLLOWING REPLY FROM THE COMPANY:
How upsetting to see a business making up allegations about a client and spouting insulting language to cover its own failings. It's deeply unprofessional.
I suppose the business model normally relies on making clients sign a satisfaction form to head off complaints about poor cleaning down the line, but since I did not sign one, it has had to resort to other tactics.
I never threatened to post a bad review at any stage. In fact, I was nothing but polite and friendly in correspondence throughout.
I took contemporaneous photos, as the metadata proves, with crystal clear shots of dead spiders, thick grime and networks of cobwebs shining in the sunlight. The company's post-cleaning images show upstairs and the microwave - not the rooms they skipped and not the filthy oven.
I have the photos and copies of all the emails to prove it.

efficent , well organised , very high standards. Deep cleaned a filthy flat and brought it back to liveable . Showed kindness and consideration. Jack and Anna were miracle workers.

Had the pleasure of using Mel’s cleaning again to clear & clean the upstairs of my mums house (she is a hoarder) the 3 people who did the work were friendly & helpful & did a fantastic job. They got on with the job & didn’t stop until it was completed. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a good job done.

After a very difficult time, the three men who came to help clear my brothers flat were excellent. As this was an extreme clean I would not hesitate to recommend Mels cleaning for this type of job. Very professional and empathetic.

As a family we've struggled alot over the last few months, maybe even years.

Life has got to much, health issues and life events have taken their toll and our house became neglected.

Mels Cleaning team have done the most amazing job, not just decluttering our home but organising and cleaning it beyond a standard we could have dreamed of.

The team of 4 where attentive, empathetic and unbelievably caring in carrying out the tasks.

Absolutely fantastic service! The cleaners arrived on time and got straight to work. They were incredibly hardworking, efficient, and such pleasant people—really lovely to have around. It was a tricky clean with furniture still in the house and me being there, but they worked around everything seamlessly. They did a fabulous job, and I would highly recommend them

I booked with Mel’s Cleaning for a deep/extreme clean following a period of mental ill health and self-neglect.

The standard of the clean is utterly fantastic, with the staff having cleaned with obvious care and compassion.

I was taken into hospital the evening before the clean was due to take place and despite this spanner in the works, the team overcame the obstacle and still finished the clean.

They are fantastic.

I recently had an extreme clean and tidy done by Mel’s cleaning (4/11/2024) and I’m beyond impressed with the service provided and the communication between all the team and I. I was unable to be present at the time of the clean so the cleaners made sure to call/contact me throughout to check things over with me and to confirm what my main focuses were. I was then emailed multiple photos of what had been done and to say I was amazing is an understatement! They completely transformed the rooms I needed doing! They went above and beyond and I can’t thank them enough. I shall 100% be booking with them again in the future!

Excellent service. Zane was awesome, very professional and efficient. Made my extremely cluttered house look like a home again. I recommend and I surely would request the service again if I need it in the future.

We used Mels Cleaning company when our dad downsized from our family home. Nice easy process to get a quote and to get booked in. The cleaners arrived when they said they would and were happy to be left to do their job which allowed us to get dad settled. 5 star service. Would definitely recommend
