Poor company... Great cleaners
Company was poor. They charge a fortune but don't even pay for bin bags. Plus they don't provide their staff with adequate cleaning equipment. We had to buy a decent broom (they had one tiny one between four) and they had to borrow dusters. Also they only had one small Henry hoover between four of them. And no power cable extension cords.
Cleaners were brilliant and worked really hard though but times you pay for and they stay don't appear to allow them time for any lunch and other breaks which is concerning.
I raised concerns by email but got no reply so once you've paid it's clear they don't listen to feedback.

Thank you Laura for finding the time to leave us a review, the contents of which somewhat alarmed us, so a FULL investigation was conducted and is now concluded.
ALL our operatives are issued with everything they'll need to complete a job to the highest professional standard, this includes multiple vacuum cleaners, extension leads, brooms, cloths and cleaning solutions etc etc. All operatives are also instructed to take regular breaks and this is supervised by the team leader, as is the equipment and transport. We do NOT supply bin bags and this is made clear in our FAQs and Ts&Cs.
Our investigations concluded that the management team had been misled by the team leader, who failed to take the correct vehicle to your booking and also failed to notify us of this error. The correct vehicle was FULLY equipped and fit for purpose butv was not used.
As a result of these failings disciplinary action is in progress.
It is clear, that in this instance, we failed to deliver the highest standard of service and for that we unreservedly apologise.
We have now put additional monitoring methodologies in place to ensure that this does not happen again.
Once again - sorry!!
Incredible service in every way
I was astounded by the sensitivity, professionalism, and skill of the cleaners who came to clear and clean the flat. The amount they achieved in such a short time was incredible, and they paid great attention to detail. Even all the little touches of organizing remaining possessions into nice places and being considerate with every little thing. Honestly I couldn't sing their praises enough. They made what was a very difficult time so much easier in every way, and I would recommend that anyone use Mel's Cleaning for any big deep cleans or difficult and overwhelming jobs.

Excellent Deep Clean Service

Spring clean
Got a spring clean done on the 9th august and I couldn’t of been happier with everything this company had to offer! The cleaners were so friendly and approachable and my house is looking spotless. Wasn’t sure whether to get it done but bit the bullet and can honestly say that I’ll be booking up again! The time saved from me cleaning was worth it alone but the finished job exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t go back to doing it myself again. 100% worth it. Thank you for the amazing job and amazing customer service!

A Big Job Well Done!!
I contacted Mel’s Cleaning to help with a big declutter and deep clean for my parents who live 200+ miles away from me. Due to health issues and other factors their house had really got on top of them and they were not fit enough to really make a dent in it.
The communication from the company has always been super fast and they identified a team of three to go in very quickly after we sent photos for the quote.
My parents are over the moon with the results. They keep telling me how they have their house back and it has taken a really big weight off of them. The team who carried out the clean were lovely and my dad said how friendly and professional they were. I was also kept in the loop as the clean went on when they realised that they would need a further day to come out and finish the job.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mel’s Cleaning to anyone. I’m always skeptical of having to pay upfront but it was no problem at all and they carried out the work with no judgement and with their full focus and attention. Such a weight off all of our minds!

Truly wonderful and worth every penny. We had two members of staff for two days to help with cleaning out my parents house. They arrived right on time and worked tirelessly along side us to sort through things. They were incredibly efficient and made everything spotless, an amazing team. It felt like an entirely new house afterwards! We would absolutely hire Mel’s cleaning again should we need it. Thank you :)

10 stars. They went way beyond my wildest expectations. My house had been destroyed by my mentally ill relative. I cannot get over what a difference they made. They worked so hard, there was no slacking off at all, no clock watching. They were determined to get it all done. The cleaners were also absolutely lovely. They were so kind, non judgmental and respectful of the property. They went way above and beyond and all with a smile on their face. The quote was also cheaper than 2 other companies I tried. I’ve used cleaning companies a few times and this was by far the best experience I have had. I was a bit nervous about paying up front but the communication from the company was excellent too. I would highly recommend them.

The team of 4 arrived on time and with a can do attitude. I booked for 4 people for 8 hours- the house was grim, so very hard work.
They worked like Trojans for 10 hours. No reduction in pace until the job was done. They were polite, cheerful and dedicated to getting it done.
I was very please with the results. I can recommend this company and in particular the team who did a brilliant job.

After a lengthy spell of ill health I booked my first deep clean with this company. The father and daughter team who arrived are a credit to Mel's. They were thorough, courteous and, important to me, non judgemental. The rooms gleam and my house feels like home again

Deep clean on very dirty house
Communication in arranging the cleaners and knowing who I was meeting on the day was very professional. On the day Jack and his team arrived on time. They did a deep clean on a relative's house. It was 24 year's of dirt and there was no hot water in the house. I was so pleased and amazed with what they achieved. They knew what they were doing and worked incredibly hard. It was not an easy job and they were understanding and respectful of what was a difficult situation for us. The house is now fit for sale.

Shoddy service
Shoddy service, bad communication, surly and unprofessional responses over email. - speaking of “mendacious narratives” - it’s telling that the company decides to reply to reviews over this site, and yet, completely fails to respond to emails when problems are politely raised. Also: I attached photos of a dirty bathroom via email which seems to have been omitted from the reply to this review. Which speaks to the lack of communication [there was no reply to my emails] - and utterly dishonest. So. SHODDY SERVICE, TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, AND TOTALLY DISHONEST - I’m now having to pay for additional cleaning.

This review relates to an end of tenancy clean conducted on 4th January where the reviewer was not present at the property and the keys had to be collected and returned to a local estate agent. The reviewer informed us yesterday that the letting agent claimed to have ‘inspected’ the property on 5th February and then provided us with a copy of check-out report .
The check-out report stated ‘Cleaned to a fair standard with some oversights. No receipt seen for professional cleaning. Further cleaning required’. Having read through the 20 page report whilst examining the very small, low resolution images therein , the only specific cleaning ‘issues’ found related to window cleaning, unspecified wooden floor cleaning and ‘oversights’ in the cleaning of a freezer. We were unable to actually see these issues on the check-out report images. The vast majority of ‘issues’ raised in said report were of damage to the fabric and fittings in the property caused by the tenant.
At the conclusion of every job we take very high resolution images and we were unable to match these to the alleged cleaning issues raised in the report. Furthermore, we do not clean exterior windows.
When booking we make it VERY clear, and this is repeated in the booking confirmation, our FAQs and Ts&Cs, that it is always advisable to be at the property personally to sign-off the cleaning as totally satisfactory. We also make it VERY clear that we will not consider complaints raised days, let alone weeks, after we have attended a property.
It is regrettable that this reviewer has decided to hit-out at us, as clearly his issue is with the letting agent who doubtless has pocketed his deposit and will now seek to justify this using any methodology they can muster.
No, we did not and nor do we provide a shoddy service, we have 48 high resolution images that illustrate our attention to detail at this property. We have provided clear, precise, professional and polite communications; these weren’t what this reviewer wanted to hear so he has chosen to define them as ‘bad, surly and unprofessional’ in order to fit with his mendacious narrative.
