Mortgage advisor left very suddenly and we almost lost our house.

We spoke with the Stroud office and went through all the regular checks and we were assured our application was sent off. Didn't hear anything for weeks and then when followed up, the person we had been speaking to had left the business, hadn't submitted the application and the sellers threatened to pull out.

Spoke to head office who offered to redo all the advice but couldn't really trust it would go also went elsewhere.

Couldn't have had a better experience with Harrison Windle at Mortgage Advice Bureau.

Harrison truly went above and beyond to help my mum through the affordability process whilst searching for a shared ownership home. His communication was superb and it was rare if we didn't receive a response within a couple of hours (often within 30 mins) and I truly felt like he cared to help us and offer solutions. I often responded to ask question or query calculations, but Harrison never made us feel like we were being annoying or he was too busy - we always felt like we were being prioritised.

Whilst we didn't pass the affordability for the shared ownership property we originally looked at, Harrison continued to offer support and advice and was available even when we were going through other housing associations.

After losing out on the original property, we worked with Metro Finance on the affordability of a different property. The difference was black and white in terms of communication (we missed Harrison!) - we would recommend Mortgage Advice Centre to anyone looking for advisors who provide prompt, personalised advice and support.

Initially the service was very good. There was lots of communication, quick responses, and I felt confident that everything was being handled properly.

Unfortunately, as soon as my case became more complicated, the level of service dropped significantly. Communication slowed down, updates became limited, and I was left feeling that because my situation was not a straightforward mortgage application, there was less interest in helping me find a solution.

I completely understand that not every application is simple and that lenders have different criteria, but the value of a mortgage adviser is especially important when things are more challenging. That is when I expected more support, not less.

Overall, a good first impression but a disappointing experience in the end.

Gary Banks of GB Hipotecas was our mortgage broker and he genuinely went above and beyond. His communication is top tier and was always there when we needed him for calm advice. He also got us a great deal on our mortgage. We owe a lot to Gary and he was the most solid and reliable part of the whole house buying process. We'd recommend Gary in a heartbeat and down the line when we come to buy again we will 100% be using him as our mortgage broker once more.

I had gone for the mortgage through MAB Paul Jones was incredibly helpful! Great service and experience!!

Quite poor I had to chase them up to get a response for a mortgage quotation. I wouldn't recommend using them as there are so many better ones out there.

We cannot recommend Daniel Wenham (Mansfield Innovation Centre) at Mortgage Advice Bureau highly enough.

We were introduced to Daniel through a work event, and after sending an enquiry online on New Year’s Eve, he called us at 6pm the same day. From that very first conversation, we knew he was committed, knowledgeable, and someone we could trust.

We are usually used to doing everything ourselves, so trusting someone else with our mortgage process was not easy for us. However, Daniel made the whole experience simple and reassuring. Our mortgage process took only around 45 minutes with him, compared to the hours we had previously spent dealing directly with the bank.

When our case became complex and our solicitor dropped the case, Daniel calmly stepped in, took things in hand, and helped us navigate the legal side as well. His support made a huge difference.

His team, especially Nicola and Charlotte, were also incredibly supportive throughout. Things genuinely would not have happened without Daniel and his team.

This is the second time I've used MAB, and dealt specifically with Darren Bedingfield and Summer Clark in Great Yarmouth/Norwich. The service both times has been exceptional, the communication faultless, and the overall experience stress-free and simple. They are friendly and personable and go above and beyond to achieve the best results. I would highly recommend them for mortgaging and remortgaging.

James Summerlin failed to explain that we could secure a mortgage deal and continue switching to better rates up until completion, which caused us to miss out on a significantly lower rate. The overall level of advice and support throughout the remortgage process was disappointing, and we ultimately decided to seek help elsewhere.

We are still waiting for them to get back to us. One star is too much for this shambolic company. For weeks, we have been chasing them up regarding a mortgage renewal. They left us high and dry, and I am so angry. Avoid this company and get yourself a proper broker. I dread to think what they have done with all our personal data.

This company has been very clear and helpful throughout my mortgage process. I’ve had a lovely women called Linzi working with me. She has never made me feel silly with any question that I have had as a first time buyer and not savvy with the mortgage process! She’s been extremely supportive and open with talking to family members in places I haven’t understood as well. Couldn’t recommend her enough! When a couple of issues regarding other areas came up she was more than happy to advise! Even in moments that could have become stressful she has made the whole experience reassuring.
The information you fill online initially is straight forward and nothing is made too complicated to understand! But even when needing help with the those particular parts, Linzi was happy to help too!

The service provided by Nick during our recent staircasing transaction has been nothing short of exceptional. Throughout the process, Nick has been fantastic, ensuring that the complex process was smooth and I really felt that he wanted to ensure the best for me and my family. He provided regular updates, was easily contactable at any time of day to fit around my job and throughout it felt as if it was a 1:1 service, forgetting that he probably has a huge number of clients. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive having to move from Stephen Douglas, an independent broker who retired but I had nothing to worry about and throughout knew that I was in safe hands.

Dawn is also fantastic and both Nick and Dawn were personable and down to earth.

I have no problem in highly recommending Mortgae Advice Bureau and I look forward to returning in the future, though I have no doubt whatsoever that Nick will contact me first.

So slow!
Waiting for emails back, hidden fees for submitting financial assessments to the shared ownership scheme, payable even if you don’t get the house, went straight to Acumen and they did more in 3 days than MAB did in 3 weeks!

We had a very disappointing experience with Mortgage Advice Bureau. Our circumstances were explained clearly from the start, including credit history issues and a high LTV, and we were reassured that suitable mortgage options were available. However, after months of poor communication, repeated reassurance, and multiple unsuccessful applications, it became clear that our case had not been handled with the level of care and judgment we expected.

We often had to chase for updates, and at a critical stage close to completion we were informed that our broker would be on leave without proper support in place.

What makes this even more frustrating is that another broker was able to secure us a mortgage under the same circumstances within weeks.

Overall, the service lacked transparency, urgency, and professionalism. I would never recommend anyone to deal with MAB.
