What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades. From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. Service and quality not as expected
Ordered 2 items of furniture. On delivery only 1 item (display cabinet) was delivered. This was very nice and seems good quality. It took 5 attempts to have the second item (bookcase)delivered (and that was only after I called the delivery company and asked them to find the missing item). When delivered I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the bookcase. It seems that the wood has been stained but there are set ions where the stain has been missed. Expected better service and quality of furniture from Oka.

The painted, folding table.
The painted, vibrant, patterned top of the light in weight folding table makes a nice occasional impact. Table folds to a very useful slim depth. It can slide into narrow space. It’s stable as the metal bar fits into the square inverted space under the top.
However, there is no flat turning catch to keep the bar in place if the table is lifted up, so the top would throw off objects immediately. The legs have been thickly painted a dull gold colour which is ugly. If I had paid full price I would have returned this item. Not as expected, though the 2 cardboard boxes provided the firmest protection I’ve ever seen.

Kintaro bowls are lovely
These are lovely bowls. I already bought the plates and ordered some bowls on the Friday to be collected at the Knutsford store on Sunday. When I picked them up I was told I had missed the 20% in-store sale on Saturday but there might be a sale at the end of November. Oh, well! When I logged into OKA online the following Friday my bowls were on a 30% discount. Frustrating to have missed two sales in one week on these bowls. A heads-up would have been nice!

Joyful shopping experience

Surprisingly early delivery
The item was easy to order and, though I was told it was on back order and wouldn’t be despatched until 26 September, I received it on 22 September, well in time for 28 September, which was the date I wanted to give this olive oil bottle as a gift.
