I like the promptly response

I have waited a long time to get an SSP1 form on paper. I have spoken to a lady several times. Yes you have sent this out by email, by law you should have sent me this on paper. The lady I deal with is very polite and pleasant. My claim for national insurance credits can't go through until I have sent that form, which you should have sent me six weeks ago. I am not complaining about this member of staff, she is always most helpful. You shouldn't have to pester people, when you have had surgery six weeks ago. This is the problem with having the people who pay you, being separate to your employer.

This review concerns Workwell's appalling Umbrella company solutions - I can't speak for any of their other services.

After using Workwell for a few weeks I realised my work expenses were being put through as taxable. Expenses are NOT taxable. The work I do involves many journeys visiting households and typically 250 - 300 miles per week, so this represents quite a lot of money. When I contacted them they said they'd decided it was easier to just put them through as taxable because of increased scrutiny of Umbrella companies - so without me knowing, they decided to reduce my money?! How is it legal to decide everyone should pay tax on non-taxable items without telling us?

Somewhat reluctantly after I made phone calls, they set up a form that would allow me to claim mileage expenses without tax, but they insisted on every single journey being logged - I make about 60 journeys per week (some trips are only half a mile) so this took *ages* to do.

Other problems also occurred, including them taking months to provide my P45 after numerous requests.

I have switched to a different Umbrella company and they have been superb (see my other reviews if you want to know who) - a simple mileage declaration once a week that takes me a couple of minutes, and no other issues.

Avoid Workwell and look for a better alternative would be my advice.

I am with Datasource recruitment company, I was provided Workwell as an umbrella agency choice. I rang the account manager but I didn’t receive a call back by the payroll team. After 4 hours I received a text asking me if I wanted to sign up, obviously there was no one to call if I needed help. I need a person speaking group to ask questions and have contact with in the future,a text based computer system is no good to me.

Answered the call within the first few rings which is always great and starts me in a good mood, plus was very pleasant to talk to. My question was answered clearly and even gave me information about the splitting of payments which I did not know was possible (good to know for the future) and sorted out my holiday payment within minutes
