Bunnings cannington
Bunnings cannington, will never shop there again, profiled as soon as you walking in to purchase light globes, made to wait in the aisle for a "representative" to come and assist getting the right product. Made to wait and wait and wait. And then told particular item can only be bulk purchased, which had never been the case before. Question as to why items in the past were placed on shelves singularly were handballed from staff to staff with no real answer. Then treated like a complete pig on the way out.
Will never shop at any bunnings again.
Why I No Longer See Bunnings Burleigh the Same Way
For almost four years, I have supported a young man with Down syndrome, three of those while he has worked at Bunnings Burleigh. During that time, I have watched not only his personal growth but also the development of several other employees with disabilities.
When he started, I believed Bunnings understood inclusion. Employment transformed his confidence, communication, independence and sense of purpose, and I witnessed similar growth in others. For many, Bunnings was more than a workplace; it was somewhere they felt valued, capable and connected.
Unfortunately, my perception changed after a leadership change in October 2025. Within a short time, several long-serving and highly respected employees, including some with almost twenty years' service, left the business. While staff turnover is inevitable, losing so many experienced and respected people so quickly raises questions.
My greatest concern is the impact on employees with disabilities. Much of their mentoring and support came not through formal programs but from dedicated staff who invested their time to help them succeed, creating an environment where vulnerable workers felt safe and confident.
Several employees with disabilities became highly competent on the registers, with some identifying discrepancies others overlooked. Their work was genuine and valuable. I was concerned when employees who had successfully worked on the registers for years were removed and reassigned.
When I sought an explanation, I was told cash handling had become "high risk". Having watched these employees perform the role safely and competently for years, I struggle to reconcile that explanation with reality.
Anyone experienced in supporting people with Down syndrome understands the importance of routine. Stability and familiarity are fundamental to confidence and wellbeing, and significant changes should be introduced thoughtfully and with consultation. While businesses may make operational decisions, they should genuinely consider their impact on vulnerable employees.
What troubled me most was the human consequences. I witnessed one employee become distressed after losing a role she had loved. Another took months to adjust to changes many would consider minor. These reactions are consistent with what support workers, families and disability professionals understand about routine and predictability.
The young man I support also expressed anxiety about losing register duties that had become an important part of his week. It had taken well over a year to build the confidence for him to perform the role independently.
Bunnings Burleigh was once a workplace I enthusiastically praised. It felt welcoming, supportive and inclusive. Today it feels very different. I continue to respect many staff members whose kindness and commitment remain exceptional. My concern is not with them but with decisions that appear to overlook those most affected.
What makes this harder to understand is what happened next. Around two weeks after employees with disabilities were removed from the registers because cash handling was deemed "high risk", the young man I support was asked to return because the store was short-staffed. This has happened repeatedly since.
I do not raise this to criticise frontline staff responding to operational demands. Rather, it exposes an inconsistency. If someone is considered too high-risk to perform a role they have undertaken competently for years, why are they considered suitable whenever staffing pressures arise? That inconsistency undermines the credibility of the original explanation and raises legitimate questions about whether other factors influenced the decision.
An organisation's commitment to inclusion is not measured by marketing or public statements. It is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable employees when difficult decisions are made.
Based on what I have witnessed, I sincerely hope Bunnings Burleigh reflects on the direction it is taking and remembers the values that once made it such a positive place for people with disabilities to work and thrive.
Great customer service at Bunnings… Chirnside Park
Great customer service at Bunnings Chirnside park, very helpful staff, Kerry was great and was able to assist me with breaking down screws I needed for a flat pack I was doing.
Thanks 😊

As mentioned previously, all self service counters closed, only one pay isle open with a decent wait queue then after paying I’m harassed and asked for my receipt from an elderly employee who’s 3 ft away from the register and had watched me pay, what a joke.
I left feeling treated like a thief, honestly Bunnings, wake up,put the old bloke to good use and open up another pay aisle to reduce wait time, not treat every customer like a thief

Key Cutting
Key Cutting. Mandarah store cut a key for me on Monday. After 3 returns with the same key to get it cut right so it works (they wasted 3 blanks) I left the 3rd key and demanded money back. Went to Mister Minute (a bit dearer) and they got it right first shot. They say they regularly have the same complaint about Bunnings Key Cutting. MORAL IS DO NOT USE BUNNINGS FOR KEYS.
Appalling treatment of a vulnerable…
Appalling treatment of a vulnerable customer — zero accountability
I had an extremely distressing experience at Bunnings Rockdale on 15 July 2026. As a 69-year-old customer with a registered disability, I visited the store simply asking if I could place a special order for a silver shower hose ($18.40) and brought my old packaging for reference.
Instead of being assisted, I was met with extreme hostility. The Store Coordinator, repeatedly interrupted me, loudly and falsely accusing me of "demanding a discount". When I asked for the manufacturer details on the packaging so I could look into it myself, she opened it, yelled "I am not going to tell you," and shoved it back. When I reached out to retrieve my own property, she falsely shouted "Don’t touch me!" in front of other shoppers, demeaning and humiliating me.
When I requested her name to lodge a complaint, she crossed her arms, shouted "That’s my chest!" and accused me of threatening her. She and another staff member then followed me all the way out to the car park, yelling at me, and were laughing as I sat in my car.
This aggressive harassment triggered a severe panic attack, leaving me shaking and unable to drive home safely.
When I formally complained to management, Complex Manager provided a generic brush-off email offering no formal apology and no indication that staff would undergo retraining on de-escalation or disability awareness.
I no longer feel safe or welcome at this store. Vulnerable, elderly, and disabled customers should beware of how they may be treated here.
Extremely disappointing customer…
Extremely disappointing customer service in the Garden Department at Bunnings Mentone today.
There were five people in the department, with three staff members , I asked for help locating a specific plant and was simply told, “Over there, under the hanging pots at the back,” before the staff member immediately returned to her conversation with another staff member
There are hundreds of hanging pots throughout the department, so that direction was practically useless. After spending more than 10 minutes searching unsuccessfully, I went back and asked again. Once again, I was pointed in the same vague direction and the same women just started to sweep then stopped and talked to someone again
I had a large trolley and ended up walking through around 30 aisles trying to find one simple item. It would have taken less than a minute for someone to walk me to the correct spot.
What disappointed me most wasn’t that the staff member didn’t know where the plant was—it was that she clearly wasn’t interested in helping. Watching staff members stand around while a customer repeatedly struggled to find a product is not the level of service I’d expect from Bunnings.
Customer service isn’t pointing across the store and hoping the customer figures it out. It’s taking the time to help. Unfortunately, today that simply didn’t happen.

Nunnawadding trade desk staff poor service to trade account customers.
Power pass issue told me to call a number that put me on hold for 15 mins with no answer. Unable to use my account until a staff member Bruce came to my rescue and sorted issue promptly.
Additional fee for service not met
I paid an additional fee for next-day delivery with the clear expectation that my item would arrive the following day. Unfortunately, this service was not provided, as the parcel arrived a day later than promised. Despite the delivery guarantee not being met, the additional delivery charge has not been refunded.
This is not simply about the amount of money involved—it is a matter of fairness and accountability. Customers should not be charged for a premium service that is not delivered.
As a single parent raising two children, every dollar counts. The money I paid for a service that was not provided could have gone towards essential groceries and everyday necessities for my family. I believe it is reasonable to expect either the service that was paid for or a refund of the additional delivery fee when that service is not fulfilled.

Love Bunnings but who is the web developer.... Absolutely the slowest website I've used. In 2026 search should be instantaneous.
Absolutely disgusted by the service…
Absolutely disgusted by the service received through Bunnings marketplace.
We bought a mattress online I checked the measurements of the bed I had to match with a 30cm height. The mattress I ordered arrived well within time and we were happy until we set it up let it inflate and it only went to 25cm. We waited until the next day. We took photos asked for an explanation. The company first said to wait, then said because we’d slept on it that’s the problem. Then I had to ‘not throw away’ the small piece of paper it came with that explicitly said, it’s 48 hours to inflate entirely from the postage pack. But it also said it’s fine to sleep on immediately. The company wouldn’t budge, wouldn’t refund. A clear 5cm in mattress height it a lot if you’re matching bed heads and the description online was incorrect. I called Bunnings every second day for 3 weeks and 26 emails. Everytime they said they take these things very seriously - but I received no refund until I rang my bank and we together decided to enforce their charges as fraud. The company ‘a seller through Bunnings’ like a third party offered me a 10% good will refund. But after the bank threatened them -I emailed them telling them I was putting in a claim I was refunded next day.
Bunnings should not allow sellers to behave this way when their terms and conditions state product must match description or you can refund. This was bad for my mental health ringing and emailing for 3 weeks. I read their Google reviews for Bunnings marketplace and they were awful.

Ripped off for the second time at Bunnings Ringwood in Victoria with the mark down price advertised on the rack not honoured at the register. Fortunately this time I saw it in time to get my money back. And to think they are worried about customers stealing from them...
