Of all the financial institutions I have had to deal with over the death of my father, this is by far the worst. No bereavement Telephone line, expected to communicate over text chat. Then directed to read web pages. I was told government web site was down for Probate checking ( wasn’t for anybody else). Would not resend letters that had not been received as unspecified time period not passed.

once i finally go through to an agent, around 20 mins wait, everything went smoothly.

Appalling organization to deal with, as a self professed technology company they should seriously look at their process for selling shares as a UK national living abroad. It took weeks to final sell the shares, communication was minimal at best, the value decreased in the meantime. It reminded me of an age when banks made it difficult to access your own money, holding on as long as possible. Dreadful experience, barge poles are not long enough!

The Customer Service Representative I spoke to was helpful and knew what he was doing. He listened and addressed the problem efficiently and capably. He was patient and talked me through the resolution process. I did a similar job many, many years ago and I know sometimes speedy resolution = getting the customer off the phone as quickly as possible, but this was a genuinely trying to address the issue and make sure it was resolved. As the call was costing a lot and time zones were an issue, I was pleased to have my issue resolved in a single phone call.
