Pendle Witch & Ribble Valley: A Haunting Weekend.
I have given this break 2 stars because we had a very good driver and a really nice hotel. However, It was very badly organised and poor value for money.
The driver was very helpful. He was driving in very bad weather conditions but I felt perfectly safe.
The hotel was a 4* Spa hotel, but there wasn't really any time to make use if the spa facilities.
On Saturday we spent most of the day sitting on the coach, killing time. We should have had a local guide for the day, but he didn't show up. Our diver didn't have any details for the guide so had to contact the Shearings office. We were eventually told that the guide had double-booked himself and only realised he had when Shearings contacted him to ask why he hadn't turned up. So, apparently Shearings don't bother to confirm bookings with local guides.
On Sunday, on the way home, we had a stop in Lancaster, but I think we didn't really have enough time there.
I complained to Shearings and received a standard reply that looked like a script, which they tweak to suit any complaint.

The Italian and French riviera
Had a very pleasant 9 days touring the Italian and French riviera with Steve and Jason, nice hotel and comfortable coach, well looked after by Steve and Jason, can highly recommend these holidays to anyone who has not considered traveling by coach

Avoid at all costs
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Had the worst holiday on a recent coach tour of Scotland, as they put us up in a grotty hotel which had bed bugs. My wife and I got bit to pieces by the (over 70 bites between us). Wrote to Shearings to complain and phoned them as well and to date they have done absolutely nothing. Would avoid like the plague.
